    Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to fallback behavior for sounding reference signal (SRS) transmissions. According to embodiments of the present disclosure, a terminal device determines an activation/deactivation on the configured SRS resource in radio resource control (RRC)_INACTIVE state and behaviours of the terminal device depend on the activation/deactivation. In this way, it improves positioning accuracy for terminal devices in RRC-INACTIVE state. Additionally, it can also improve power consumption efficiency by avoiding unnecessary power consumption of the terminal device.

For example, a method can include sending, by a user equipment, a positioning message to a serving network element in a network that includes multiple network elements including both the serving network element itself and at least one other network element. The positioning message can be sent as a contention-based message. The method can also include receiving, by the user equipment, a positioning response from the serving network element. Content of the positioning response can be contingent on a collision result of the contention-based message.

    Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to devices, methods, apparatuses, and computer readable storage media of sidelink positioning enhancements. An apparatus selects, from a resource pool, a part of a slot in time domain for communication of a sidelink reference signal. The apparatus generates sidelink control information (SCI) comprising an indication of the part of the slot. The apparatus then transmits the SCI to a terminal device. By efficient usage of SCI, the resource allocation at sub-slot level can be enabled for sidelink positioning. In this way, sidelink positioning sensing is improved in term of resource reservation. In addition, the sidelink positioning reference signal interference can be reduced.
