Abstract: Systems and methods are provided herein for providing personalized audio for different users in a vehicle. This may be accomplished by a vehicle entertainment system determining the positions of one or more users within the vehicle. The vehicle entertainment system may then select a zone configuration based on the determined positions and output audio according to the selected zone configuration. For example, a first user sitting in the back of the vehicle may be located in a first zone of the selected zone configuration and a second user sitting in the back of the vehicle may be located in a second zone of the selected zone configuration. The vehicle entertainment system may output a first piece of audio to the first zone and a second piece of audio to the second zone using one or more techniques (e.g., beamforming).

Abstract: Systems and methods are described for asymmetrical XR application for efficient navigation. In particular, the XR application may generate for display, on a client device, a graphical representation of a 3D location. The XR application may then receive an input, via the client device, identifying a portion of the graphical representation (e.g., this may be from 2D coordinates). The XR application may access a mapping between objects in the graphical representation (e.g., 2D coordinates) of the 3D location and 3D objects in the 3D location. Then based on the mapping, the XR application may identify a correspondence between a graphical object in the portion of the graphical representation and a 3D object in the 3D location. The XR application may transmit a signal to cause an XR device at the 3D location to generate for display an augmentation for the 3D object in the 3D location.

Abstract: Systems and methods are described herein for generating a playlist for a simultaneous presentation of a plurality of media assets. The system retrieves a user preference associated with a user profile and receives a selection of a first media asset and a second media asset from the plurality of media assets for presentation on a user device. The system parses the respective audio streams of the first media asset and the second media asset to identify one or more preferred audio segments based on the user preference and generates the playlist of the identified one or more preferred audio segments. Based on a generated audio playlist, the system generates, for presentation on the user device, the video stream for each of the first media asset and the second media asset and the playlist of the identified one or more preferred audio segments.

Biometric data of a user viewing the video content is received, the biometric data comprising a biometric response of the user to the event. A biometric response profile of the user indicating a predicted biometric response of the user to a future event corresponding to the event is generated based on the biometric data and the event.

Abstract: Systems and methods for shadow detection and reduction during document capture are disclosed herein. Temporary images of hardcopy documents are analyzed to determine the presence of a shadow or hotspot that obscures information of the hardcopy document. In response to detecting the shadow or hotspot, a controllable light source is used to illuminate the hardcopy document at predicted and/or predetermined intensities to minimize or eliminate the shadow on the hardcopy document. A permanent image of the hardcopy document illuminated by the controllable light source at the intensity that minimizes or eliminates the shadow is then stored. In this way, information of the hardcopy document (such as text, color, layout, spacing etc.) is increased in the permanent image and a need for post-processing the permanent image is reduced or eliminated.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for enabling the combined voice and gesture control of a computing device. A voice command is received at a computing device from a user, and a gesture being performed by the user concurrently to the voice command being received is identified. A location of the user performing the gesture is identified in an area proximate to the user, and a direction vector extending from the user is identified based on the gesture. A target computing device in the area proximate to the user is identified from a plurality of computing devices based on the location of the user and direction vector, and the command is transmitted to the target computing device.

A user interaction with playing of a first media asset generated for presentation at a consumption device may be identified, and in response, historical wireless signal characteristics of a wireless network, over which wireless signals are used to generate for display the first media asset, may be determined. Abstract: Systems and methods are provided herein for identifying a playlist of highlights to use for refreshing a user on a plot related to a media asset the user has requested to access based on how long it has been since the user last saw related programming. The media guidance application may receive a request from a user to access a media asset and may determine whether the user previously consumed a related media asset to the media asset. The media guidance application may determine whether a period of time between receiving the request and a time when the user previously consumed the related media asset exceeds a threshold period of time. If the period of time does not exceed the threshold, the media guidance application may play back a predefined playlist of highlights, and if it exceeds the threshold, the media guidance application may play back a customized playlist of highlights.
