Abstract:
A trashcan includes a container having a base and a peripheral wall extending upwardly from the base forming an interior space for receipt of a trash bag therein; and a trash bag retention member disposed on the peripheral wall, the retention member defining a passageway into the interior space of the container and comprising a plurality of resilient, flexible fingers configured to receive and retain therebetween a portion of a trash bag. Each finger includes a portion thereof that extends away from the peripheral wall. Each finger is “bent” and extends away from the peripheral wall. A finger may extend away from the peripheral wall on the exterior of the container, away from the peripheral wall on the interior of the container, or both. A method of making the trashcan includes injection molding the container and the retention member separately or, alternatively, together.
Abstract:
A mountable power strip includes a first arm section having a plurality of electrical receptacles defining a “strip” of electrical receptacles. The mountable power strip further includes a coupling assembly that is configured to couple the first arm section to a second arm section such that the first and second arm sections are configured for rotational movement relative to each other about an axis of the coupling assembly. The first and second arm sections are offset a distance along the axis of the coupling assembly such that the first and second arm sections are configured to transition between, a first configuration, in which the first and second arm sections do not overlap each other when viewed along the axis of the coupling assembly, and a second configuration, in which the first and second arm sections overlap each other when viewed along the axis of the coupling assembly.
Abstract:
A spooled adhesive bandage dispenser includes a case, a replaceable cartridge and an activation wheel. The cartridge is disposed within the case and includes a bandage roll and a waste core. The bandage roll includes a strip of bandage packages sealed between two strips of packaging. The activation wheel is at least partially exposed outside the case. By rotating the activation wheel, the packaging strips are pulled apart and the bandage package is forced out of the case through a slot. At the same time, the packaging strips are wound around the waste core. When the bandage roll is gone, the entire cartridge may be replaced.
Abstract:
A method of serving food includes arranging food on a serving area of a serving platter having a main body including a top portion defining the serving area comprising a plurality of primary serving wells and secondary serving wells, and a bottom portion defining an interior space, the top portion defining a disposal opening configured to receive food waste into the interior space, wherein the top portion includes a plurality of dividing walls defining and separating the primary serving wells and a plurality of partitioning walls defining the secondary serving wells. Each serving well has a volume that is less than half of the volume of each primary serving well.
Abstract:
A serving platter includes a main body and a shallow lid. The main body portion includes a top portion defining a serving area comprising a plurality of primary serving wells for receiving food items therein for presentation to a person for eating, and a bottom portion defining a substantially enclosed interior space. The top portion also defines a disposal opening configured to receive there through food waste for deposit into the substantially enclosed interior space. The top portion also includes a plurality of dividing walls that define and separate the primary serving wells. The shallow lid is configured to be removably coupled to the main body such that the lid is positioned above and extends over and seats off the serving area. Each dividing wall is engaged by the lid such that two serving wells are isolated from one another by a dividing wall engaged with the lid.
Abstract:
An apparatus for securely holding and protecting a layout of elements for a page of a scrapbook includes a portfolio having first and second covers, each cover having a width and height each of which exceeds the width and height of a scrapbooking page; and a first overlay having a width and height each of which exceeds the width and height of a scrapbooking page. The first overlay and the first cover are releasably cohered together, preferably utilizing magnetic forces. A scrapbooking page and loose elements arranged thereof thereby may be secured between the overlay and the cover for safe storage and transport between scrapbooking sessions.
