摘要： A one-way valve and a flexible package including the valve are disclosed. The valve basically comprises a base member, a flexible septum and a stake. The base member is mounted on a wall of the package and includes a valve seat and at least one inlet port. The septum is formed of a resilient material and is connected to the base member by the stake, with a first portion of the septum contiguous with the stake fixed in position with respect to the base member and a second portion of the septum engaging the valve seat and covering and sealing the at least one inlet port. The septum is arranged to flex off of the valve seat to unseal the at least one inlet port when the pressure of gas at the at least one inlet port reaches a threshold.

摘要： A package for enabling the dispensing a flowable material therefrom by use of dispensing apparatus, e.g., a soft drink making machine. The package is in the form of a flexible bag having wall portions defining an internal cavity and a fitment secured to at least one wall portion. The fitment is arranged to receive a probe of the dispensing apparatus to pump the contents of the package through the fitment. The fitment includes an anti-blocking member which prevents the walls of the package from collapsing to block the fitment when the contents of the package are pumped out. The fitment also includes a valve which is normally closed and which opens upon the creation of negative pressure within the fitment as occasioned by the operation of the pumping mechanism.

摘要： A package, a fitment and method for dispensing a flowable material is disclosed. The package includes a hollow body formed of a flexible material and a fitment secured thereto. The fitment includes an outer gland and a plunger and overlies a frangible penetration zone in the hollow body of the package. The outer gland includes a passageway extending through it. The plunger has a cylindrical wall defining a hollow interior and a free end disposed within the passageway of the gland. The plunger is arranged to be moved along the passageway, so that its free end penetrates through the penetration zone into the interior of the package to provide an exit port for the material. The free end of the plunger also serves to hold portions of the walls of the package away from the exit port to prevent blockage thereof.

摘要： A flexible package for holding a flowable material therein and method of use to enable the flowable material to be introduced into a dispensing system via an inlet tube. The flexible package has a body portion and a projection which forms a mouth for the package and is in communication with the interior of the package. The projection is openable for receipt of the inlet tube and is arranged to be clamped into engagement with the inlet tube to form a fluid-tight interface by use of a clamping mechanism. The fluid-tight interface is releasable, when desired.

摘要： A package for dispensing a flowable material is disclosed. The package includes an interior chamber for holding the flowable material, a coupling insert located within the chamber and a piercing member. The piercing member includes a dispensing tube and is arranged to pierce through the package to communicate with the chamber and thereafter to snap-connect to the coupling insert. The contents of the package can then be dispensed from the package via the dispensing tube. The coupling insert is arranged to be moved to any desired position within the chamber. The package's wall may be constructed, e.g., be transparent and/or include target indicia thereon, to facilitate the positioning of the coupling insert at the desired position.

摘要： A dispensing package formed of a flexible material, e.g., a plastic film or laminate, and having two separate compartments for holding paste-like materials therein until they are to be dispensed together from the package. The package also includes an outlet in the form of a fitment having a removable cap coupled to the two compartments. The first compartment is formed by an outer panel of the package and one section of a gusset panel which forms a first inner panel. The second compartment is formed by another outer panel of the package an another section of the gusset panel which forms a second inner panel. One outer panel and its immediately adjacent inner panel are secured together along their bottom marginal edges. The other outer panel and its immediately adjacent outer panel are welded together along their bottom marginal edges. All of the panels are also welded together along their side marginal edges to form the two compartments, with each compartment having a passageway at the top thereof in communication with the fitment. The fitment is coupled to the passageways of the compartments to enable the contents of the two compartments to be ejected, e.g., squeezed, out the fitment from the package together. The two compartments are juxtaposed with respect to each other, with the inner panels being disposed in a confronting relationship with each other but arranged to be spaced apart from each other, whereupon the bottom edge of the two compartment form a wide, stable base for supporting the package in an upright orientation.

摘要： A hermetic package for fine particulate material. The package is arranged to be filled and vacuumized to hold the fine particulate material therein and isolated from the ambient atmosphere. The package, which may be in the form of a pouch or a gussetted packages, is formed of a flexible material to have at least a front and a rear panel. At least one degassing valve is mounted in at least one of the panels to enable gas within the interior of the package to vent to the ambient atmosphere. A filter sheet, e.g., a spun-bonded plastic, such as Tyvek.RTM., is secured to the interior of the package over the valve to prevent the fine particulate material within the package from entering into the valve and clogging it. The filter sheet may cover only a small portion of one of the panels of the package or may cover a major portion of that panel, or even cover substantially the entire interior of the package. The package includes a top portion forming a mouth, which is arranged to be opened, e.g., peeled or severed, in order to provide access to the particulate material within the interior of the package.

The carton/box has a planar front panel, a planar rear panel, a planar top panel, a planar bottom panel, a pair of planar side panels, and a closure assembly. The upper panel merges with the front panel at a front corner and merges with the rear panel at a rear corner. The upper panel includes two sections, pivotably connected to each other, with one of the sections located contiguous with the front corner and the other contiguous with the rear corner. The upper panel also has a first, e.g., U-shaped, portion arranged to be removed, e.g., torn away, adjacent one of the side panels to form a pouring spout. The closure assembly comprises a first releasably securable connector located adjacent the front corner, and a second releasably securable connector located adjacent the rear corner. The side panels of the package include plural preformed, e.g., weakened, lines located contiguous with the top panel. At least one of the lines in each side panel is severable parallel to the plane of the top panel immediately adjacent the top panel. The other lines in each side panel are foldable. The top panel also has a fold line extending fully thereacross between the two sections making up that panel. The package's spout is arranged to be re-closed by folding the two sections making up the top panel along it's fold line and bringing those portions of the front and rear panels contiguous with the front and rear corners into a confronting relationship with each other, whereupon they become releasably secured to hold the front and rear panels together and to close the spout.
