    Abstract: A flat panel display device formed in a pentile structure is provided, which includes a pixel portion and a lighting tester. The pixel portion includes a first pixel column, a second pixel column and a third pixel column. In the first pixel column, first pixels for displaying a first color and second pixels for displaying a second color are alternately arranged in a direction the data lines. In the second pixel column, first and second pixels arranged in reverse order of the first pixel column in a direction parallel to the data lines. In the third pixel column, third pixels for displaying a third color are arranged in a direction parallel to the data lines. The lighting tester applies a first voltage to the first pixel column and applies a second voltage to the second pixel column during a first time period. The lighting tester applies the second voltage to the first pixel column and applies the first voltage to the second pixel column during a second time period.

A thin-film encapsulation layer is arranged on the display layer and includes first, second, and third encapsulation layers. The second encapsulation layer is on the first encapsulation layer. The third encapsulation layer is on the second encapsulation layer. A touch sensing layer is arranged on the thin-film encapsulation layer and includes touch electrodes and trace lines. The display area is partially bent about an axis, and the third encapsulation layer is bent along the axis and has a structure in which a first layer and a second layer are alternately stacked. The first layer includes an inorganic insulating material, and the second layer includes a silicon carbon compound material.

    Abstract: A display device includes a display panel including a plurality of pixels, a current sensor that senses a sensing current that flows through the pixels, and a data compensator. The data compensator calculates a target current from an image frame of input image data using a current deviation for each position of the image frame and a current contribution ratio for each color of the image frame, and that generates a scale factor by comparing the target current and the sensing current. The display device further includes a timing controller that generates output image data by scaling grayscale values of the input image data using the scale factor; and a data driver that provides a data signal corresponding to the output image data to the pixels.
