    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. The described techniques provide for a user equipment (UE) to adjust a random access message that is transmitted to a base station in an asynchronous uplink transmission. The UE may use a constrained mapping of time and frequency resources for the random access message or transmit all portions of the message in a continuous transmission. The UE may also adjust the timing of the portions of the message. The base station may use a portion of the message, such as a preamble, to perform channel estimation for another portion of the message, such as a payload, to improve decoding of the transmitted message. Additionally, the UE may configure a waveform of the message to improve the continuous transmission of the message, for example by reducing interference between portions of the message.

A scheduling entity generates scheduling information that schedules a plurality of data transmissions to or from a user equipment (UE) on a first carrier having a first numerology. The scheduling entity then transmits the scheduling information to the UE on a second carrier having a second numerology different than (e.g., less than) the first numerology. The scheduling information is transmitted using control resources allocated based on slot indexes of a plurality of slots configured for communicating the data transmissions on the first carrier.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Wireless communications systems may employ one or more scheduling constraints to support efficient utilization of techniques for intra-device handling of overlapping scheduled uplink transmissions (e.g., intra-device dynamic resource cancelation and multiplexing) as well as inter-device handling of overlapping scheduled uplink transmissions (e.g., inter-device dynamic resource cancelation and multiplexing). Scheduling constraints may define how a device may apply intra-device and inter-device multiplexing and cancelation rules for various scenarios. For example, a device may apply intra-UE cancelation rules before inter-device cancelation rules. In some examples, later-received grants or uplink preemption indications (ULPIs) may not change a device's previously established decision to drop an uplink transmission. As another example, a device may not expect to receive a grant for an uplink transmission that would arise in subsequent cancelation of that uplink transmission due to a previously-received grant or previously-received ULPI.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some examples, a transmitting device may generate a parity check matrix based on performing a lifting operation on a base matrix. Each column of the base matrix may correspond to a different variable node and each row may correspond to a different check node. The transmitting device may then generate a set of coded bits based on the parity check matrix and each coded bit of the set of coded bits may be associated with a respective variable node. Further, the transmitting device may interleave the set of coded bits such that subsets of the set of coded bits associated with a same variable node are mapped to a same channel reliability level and transmit the set of coded bits according to the interleaving.

    Abstract: Systems and method for configuring and providing uplink control information (UCI) multiplexing on physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) transmissions are disclosed. In embodiments, a base station configures and signals, to a user equipment (UE) a plurality of sets of beta-offset values to be used by the UE for multiplexing a UCI transmission of a first priority to a PUSCH transmission of a second priority. Each set of the plurality of sets of beta-offset values is configured based on the second priority of the PUSCH transmission. In embodiments, the UE determines whether the UCI transmission of the first priority is allowed to be multiplexed to the PUSCH transmission of the second priority, and multiplexes the UCI to the PUSCH when multiplexing of the UCI and PUSCH is allowed, using a beta-offset value from the plurality of sets of beta-offset values.     Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for applying a mechanism to signals, from different user equipments (UEs), multiplexed for UL transmission, such that the mechanism differentiates one UE's waveform from another UE's, even if the waveforms are on the same time resources. A method that may be performed by a UE includes determining a mechanism to allow the UE to share uplink (UL) resources with at least one other UE for UL transmission, applying the mechanism to at least one of RS symbols or information symbols to be multiplexed using orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) before performing a discrete Fourier transform (DFT) for the UL transmission, and outputting a waveform for the UL transmission after performing the DFT and an inverse fast Fourier transform (IFFT).
