Abstract:
A microwave oven incorporating toaster includes a tray provided on a tray support. The tray support moves forward and backward in inside the toaster. The tray support includes a bushing for moving within moving slots provided at both sidewalls of a toaster case. A connecting lever connects the bushing to a toaster door and translates a motion generated by operation of the toaster door when it opens and closes into a moving motion exhibited by the tray. A food item (e.g., a slice of bread, bagel, etc.) arranged on the tray may be inserted into, or removed from, the inside of the toaster by operating the toaster door.
Abstract:
Ginkgo leaves contain many beneficial chemicals which can be transferred into a preparation of tea. However, the leaves contain 2-hexenal, a chemical which is toxic and has an unpleasant taste. Therefore, removal of the 2-hexenal is an essential step for the tea production. This removal is accomplished in this invention by a microwave apparatus, which has the advantage of a rapid rate of treatment at great energy efficiency. Therefore, this invention provides an effective means for large scale ginkgo leaf tea production.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for controlling output power of a combination hood and microwave oven, and more particularly, to an apparatus and method for controlling power of a combination hood and microwave oven, wherein an output level of a high voltage transformer for generating a high voltage can be adjusted. According to the combination hood and microwave oven of the present invention, the electric power supplied to the high voltage transformer can be increased by temporarily turning off the parts (limited to the components which can be controlled separately from the microwave oven function), such as the vent fan or the electric indicator lamp, having large power consumption. Thus, the output power level thereof can be increased. Therefore, there are advantages in that the quick cooking can be made and cooking performance can be improved due to the high output of the transformer, when the user intends to make the quick cooking with the high output power.
Abstract:
A waveguide system for passing microwave energy while blocking foreign particles from a moving gas passing through the system is provided. The system includes first and second waveguide sections and a low loss microwave window disposed between the waveguide sections to allow microwave energy to pass from the first waveguide section through the window to the second waveguide section. The system also includes a gas bypass filtration system having a first port in communication with the first waveguide section, a filter element in communication with the first port, and a second port in communication with the filter element and with the second waveguide section. The system of the invention having these features blocks, by means of the window, a gas flowing through the first waveguide section and forces that gas to flow through the gas bypass filtration system so that it enters the second waveguide section only after passing through the filter. A system designed to include a pillbox window is also provided.
Abstract:
Manufactured articles and methods of producing such articles are disclosed where the article has a thermoplastic polymer component and a curable polymer component. The curable polymer may be moisture-curable polymer, or microwave, dielectric or radio frequency curable polymer. The articles may be manufactured by a variety of polymer processing methods including extrusion, co-extrusion, co-molding, injection molding and calendering. A variety of articles and shapes may be made by the method including electric wire and cable, and weatherstripping.
Abstract:
An instrument is disclosed for microwave-assisted chemical processes that avoids tuning discrepancies that otherwise result based upon the materials being heated. The instrument includes a source of microwave radiation, a waveguide in communication with the source, with at least a portion of the waveguide forming a cylindrical arc, a cylindrical cavity immediately surrounded by the cylindrical arc portions of the waveguide, and at least three slotted openings in the circumference of the circular waveguide that provide microwave communication between the waveguide and the cavity.
Abstract:
A method to obtain the same effect as that of burning in at an operating frequency of a high-frequency transistor by burning in at a frequency lowers than the operating frequency. Burn-in is carried out by using a frequency lower than the operating frequency of the transistor and is higher than the response frequency of impurities included at the impurity level of the transistor.
Abstract:
A process for the production of an inductor device comprising the steps of forming a green sheet to form an insulating layer; forming a plurality of conductive coil pattern units on the surface of the green sheet in order that a plurality of unit sections each including a single coil pattern unit are arranged on the surface of the green sheet and each two coil pattern units adjoining in the substantially perpendicular direction to the longitudinal direction of the unit sections are arranged centro-symmetrically with respect to a center point of a vertical boundary line of adjoining unit sections; stacking a plurality of green sheets formed with the plurality of coil pattern units arranged in centro-symmetry and connecting the upper and lower coil pattern units separated by the green sheets to form a coil shape; and sintering the stacked green sheets. It is possible to obtain an inductor device able to suppress the stack deviation without complicating the production process even if the device is made small in size.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method are disclosed for penetrating convenience store food markets with a customer-engaging food merchandising module. The customer-engaging food merchandising module comprises three units: a food storage and display unit attached to a food preparation and display unit, and a shell unit attached to at least one of the other two units. One embodiment of the apparatus comprises: a glass-door freezer for storing and displaying at least one type of frozen food, a microwave oven attached to the freezer, and a shell attached to the freezer. The shell is used to support advertising and instructional graphics and also to give the apparatus a unitary appearance. The microwave oven has pre-programmed buttons corresponding to each of the types of food displayed in the freezer, each button activating the microwave oven to correctly heat a corresponding type of frozen food. The shell may extend above the freezer/microwave combination. The apparatus may be completely assembled in a factory and shipped ready-to-use. Maintenance may be by replacement of defective or outdated units. The entire apparatus plugs into one ordinary wall outlet for electrical power.
Abstract:
To realize an air guide of a radio-frequency heating apparatus that enables fixing of a lamp without use of a vis though it is made of a metal plate material. An air guide 9 made of a metal plate material is formed with two inverted-L-shaped nails 15. A holding portion 13 of a lamp 12 is hooked on the nails 15 and a waveguide holding plate 19 is brought into contact with an opposed surface of the holding portion 13 of the lamp 12. As a result, the lamp 12 can be fixed without using a vis and hence a step of fixing the lamp 12 with a vis can be eliminated. An inexpensive configuration can be realized that is free of fear that a disconnection may occur in a filament due to vibration.
