摘要： A self-locking slider mechanism for holding telescoping relatively-movable inner and outer tubular members in adjusted lengthwise position and which requires a greater force manually applied lengthwise of the members to decrease the over-all length of the members than to increase the over-all length thereof. The members can be used as a stand to provide a load-carrying capacity for the stand while still enabling adjustment of stand height with minimal effort. The slider mechanism has a body member attached to one tubular member and having an internal recess extending lengthwise thereof and opening to one side of the body with an inclined ramp plate mounted within the recess and associated with a ramp member movable therealong and which has a friction member engageable with the other tubular member. A plurality of compression springs are associated with the ramp plate and the ramp member and the ramp plate is inclined whereby a force tending to lower the height of the stand as by a load carried by the stand is reacted against relatively stiff compression springs associated with the ramp plate. A force tending to increase the over-all length of the tubular members is resisted by a lesser spring force acting on the ramp member and the ramp member moves downwardly along the inclined ramp plate to reduce the pressure applied by the friction member.

摘要： A vertical post is rotatably mounted in a corner cabinet and supports a plurality of rotatable shelves which carry the cabinet door. The lower end of the post is rotatably supported by a lower bearing element which rests on a bearing member on the bottom wall of the cabinet. To enable the post and the door to be adjusted vertically, the lower bearing element is a slide supported for up and down movement in the post and having a downwardly inclined ramp on its upper end. A downwardly inclined screw extends perpendicular to the ramp and may be tightened and loosened to shift the slide downwardly and upwardly relative to the post. The head of the screw is sunk within the post to enable the shelves to be slipped onto the lower end of the post during assembly and to enable one of the shelves to pass upwardly by the location of the screw.

摘要： The disclosure concerns a device for clamping two axially telescoping rods in a selected telescoped position, wherein the device includes a case supported at the end of the outside one of the two rods and the case encloses an annular bush wrapped around the inside one of the two rods. One side of the bush is open for defining an axial gap. Terminal flanges extend away from the bush at opposite sides of the gap. A shaft extends from the second of the terminal portions, through the first of the terminal portions and then outside the case. A two-position cam is journaled to the shaft and is shaped to engage the exterior of the case. As the cam is moved between its two positions, it selectively draws the terminal portion flanges together or permits them to move apart for selectively clamping or releasing the bush on the rod. A spring normally biases the terminal portion flanges apart. A nut screw-threadedly received on the shaft is adjustable along the shaft for defining the initial position of the second terminal portion with respect to the first terminal portion.

摘要： A wheeled carriage has an upright column with a laterally projecting and vertically adjustable arm thereon. The projecting end of the arm has a dove-tail connector thereon rotatably adjustable in a horizontal plane; a tubular feed screw support has a mating dove-tail part on its bottom side engageable with the connector. The end of the feed screw support has a second dove-tail connector thereon and rotatably adjustable in a vertical plane. A bracket attachable to the motor of an electric drill has a second mating dove-tail part engageable with the second connector with the shaft of the drill chuck aligned with the axis of the tubular support. Two spaced tubular chucks are mounted on opposite sides of the tubular support to receive and releasably lock anchor cables parallel to the drill. The dove-tail parts mating with the connectors have threaded recesses opening normally to connectors; and slots opening laterally and radially into the recesses. Clamp plugs threaded into the recesses each have an axial slot in their periphery and an internally threaded transverse bore aligned with the slot. Locking pins have threaded ends passed through the radial slots in the mating dove-tail parts and the slots in the associated clamp plugs and into the bores, providing 180 degrees clamping adjustment of the plugs against the dove-tail connectors. The pins have tapered mid-sections that will expand the sides of the slots in the plugs and lock the threads on the plugs when the pins are rotated on their axes.A modification interposes a horizontally rotatable connector bar with a mating dove-tail part on its side, and a dove-tail connector on one end, between the arm on the upright and bracket supporting the drill motor.Manual and power driven feed screw supports are disclosed.

摘要： A draft control system for furnaces comprises an auxiliary channel in communication both with ambient air and the flue of the furnace, a main draft control means for regulating the entrance of ambient, auxiliary draft air into the flue, and auxiliary draft control means mounted in the auxiliary channel for dampening the effect of extreme changes in external conditions on the main draft control means. Thus, uniform draft and efficient combustion is maintained in the furnace under a wide variety of conditions. The main draft control means comprises counter-balanced draft control plates which are initially set in an open position so that they can either open or close in order to efficiently regulate the draft in the flue. The auxiliary draft control means comprises, in one embodiment, an isolation damper plate rotationally mounted in the auxiliary channel, or, in a second embodiment, a set of louvred panels. The position of the auxiliary draft control means is automatically regulated by a pneumatic control device responsive to the efficiency of furnace combustion.

摘要： A mounting pin for a pivoted damper blade is disclosed which comprises a cylindrical shaft having a cenrtrally positioned hole extending therethrough, this hole being surrounded on one side of the pin with an upstanding flat seat. This hole is longer than it is wide so that it extends longitudinally of the pin. Also, the pin at one side of the seat is formed to include longitudinal depressions which provide a plurality of circumferentially spaced arc segments which form an interrupted circle. This pin is mounted on a blade at a side margin thereof by means of a bolt extending through a hole in the blade and through the hole in the pin, and a nut is associated with the bolt, the nut locking against the flat seat of the pin. A resilient gasket is interposed between the head of the bolt and the rear face of the blade so that the bolt need not be held while the nut is tightened. Also, a locking washer is desirably interposed between the nut and the seat.
