Abstract:
A communication system including a communication box connected to a public communication line and capable of data communication with a child unit through a digital cordless (DCL) wave and with a multi-function device through a wires LAN (WLAN) wave, and wherein each of the child unit and multi-function device has a light emitting portion and a light receiving portion for optical communication between the child unit and multi-function device. The communication box and multi-function device have respective WLAN communication control portions which are normally placed in a non-operating state, and when the communication box receives facsimile data from the public communication line, the communication box commands the child unit to require the multi-function device to start its WLAN communication control portion, starts its own WLAN communication control portion, and transmit the facsimile data to the multi-function device through the WLAN wave.
Abstract:
Apparatus for interfacing a conventional facsimile machine with a PC enabling the use of the facsimile machine as a scanner or printer. A first switch assembly selectively couples the PC modem and facsimile machine either to independent telephone lines in a normal mode or to one another in a scan print mode. A manually operated switch assembly is depressed for a brief interval sufficient to activate a ringing circuit which converts DC power from a small battery source to a 20 Hz sine wave of 90 volt amplitude and applies the sine wave signal to the PC to cause the PC or facsimile to enter into a scan or print mode, respectively. The manually operable switch is then released to apply a constant current to the facsimile machine to simulate an off-hook condition. A facsimile machine start button is then operated to start the facsimile machine which scans documents provided therein and transmits the scanned data in a conventional facsimile transmission format or activate the PC to transmit a fax in conventional facsimile transmission format to utilize the facsimile machine as a printer. The PC may be equipped with a suitable software program for converting non-graphic, i.e. such as word-type information into a binary format suitable for use in word processing applications and may store the data in a memory for subsequent use. An automatic circuit may be provided to initiate a scanning or printing mode responsive to receipt of a unique number received from either the facsimile machine or the PC, thus eliminating the need for switches.
Abstract:
This disclosure details the implementation of apparatuses, methods, and systems for a portable, automated contractual image dealer and transmitter. The transmitter provides a platform capable of managing, manipulating, storing, and transmitting digital media files across a wide array of transmission means and protocols. In addition, the capability to provide media for sale or distribution from remote locations, including the ability to choose from a number of possible buyers based on selected criteria and to remotely establish binding purchasing and/or image transferal relationships, is potentially beneficial for an array of media applications. In one embodiment, the transmitter may be employed by photographers, photojournalists, and/or the like to rapidly process, edit, and send photographs or video to multiple news agencies, newspapers, magazines, television studios, websites, and/or the like while maintaining control over their photographs by allowing them to send reduced quality and watermarked proofs. The transmitter may be configured to allow users to first generate and transmit low-resolution preview images, thereby saving on transmission time and resources, and only send full resolution versions once approvals of the preview versions are received

The transmitter's broad communication capabilities ensure that it is maximally effective in locating and exploiting available communication networks, even from remote locations.

Abstract:
An interface for facilitating facsimile transmission via a wireless communications device operatively connected to a wireless communications network, including: a modem suitable for being communicatively coupled to a facsimile machine; a controller coupled to the modem; and, a memory operatively coupled to the controller. The interface includes code to cause the modem to transmit a retrain request to the facsimile machine upon expiration of a given temporal period. The interface includes a circuit for selectively generating a ring signal corresponding to a plain old telephone service ring signal. The interface includes a circuit for selectively generating a hold signal corresponding to a plain old telephone service hold signal. And, the circuit includes code to cause the modem to transmit data indicative of white lines to the facsimile machine upon expiration of a given temporal period.
Abstract:

A memory device is configured to receive the JPEG print file from the virtual printer driver. An imaging apparatus has a PictBridge port configured for receiving input from a camera. An interface device includes an important port, an export port and a processor device. The import port is configured for coupling to the memory device. The export port is configured for coupling to the PictBridge port of the imaging apparatus. The processor device is coupled to each of the input port and the export port. The processor device is configured to export the JPEG print file via the export port to the PictBridge port of the imaging apparatus.
Abstract:
An adapter capable of communicating with an image supply device and an image output device and allowing direct printing even when a plurality of images are transferred at the same time from image supply devices. The adapter transmits a print request associated with a first image to the image output device. If acquisition of a second image is completed before acquisition of the first image completed, the adapter transfers the second image instead of the first image as the image to be printed.
Abstract:
A multi-functional peripheral combination apparatus includes a multi-functional peripheral, a portable electronic equipment and a transforming unit being electrically connected between the multi-functional peripheral and the portable electronic equipment for image management, file management and other administrative affairs. Furthermore, the operation applied to both of the portable electronic equipment and the multi-functional peripheral is configured to preview the working image before the processing of the multi-functional peripheral, and then to edit and revise the image.
