Abstract: An electrophotographic copying machine includes a photosensitive drum. A first electrostatic latent image according to an original copy image is formed in a state wherein a certain electric charge is accumulated and an original copy image formed by a first light source like a halogen lamp is focussed on this photosensitive drum. In order to form an additional information other than the original copy image, an LED array as a second light source is provided. By the second light source the additional information is formed on the photosensitive drum as the second electrostatic latent image. In case of recording the additional information, a shield member is utilized to prevent the electrostatic latent image by the original copy from being formed in the corresponding region of the photosensitive drum. The photosensitive drum comprises a material like amorphous silicon which is able to react to both first and second light sources.

Abstract: According to an embodiment, an image processing system includes an image forming unit, a decoloring unit, a storage device, an operation panel and a processor. The storage device stores image data of a plurality of printed materials. The processor forms on a sheet an image based on image data in a page range of the printed material received by the operation panel. The processor determines whether or not images of all pages in the page range have been decolored in a predetermined range after the image formation is executed when the formed image is decolored by the decoloring unit.

Abstract: Use of separate range tone mapping for combined images can help minimize loss of image information in scenes that have drastically different luminance values, i.e., scenes that have both bright and shadowed regions. Separate range tone mapping is particularly useful for combined images, such as those from spherical camera systems, which may have a higher probability of including luminance variability. The resulting increased bit depth of separate range tone mapping can make the transition between different images that make up a combined image more subtle. Each of a plurality of images that make up a combined image can use a different tone map that is optimized for the particular image data of the image. Multiple tone maps that are applied to overlapping regions of the plurality of images can subsequently be combined to expand the bit depth of the overlapping regions.

Abstract: A digital printing system is disclosed having two independently operable printing towers arranged in series such that a substrate sheet passes sequentially through both printing towers, and in which a perfecting mechanism is provided between the two towers to reverse each substrate sheet during transfer from the first printing tower to the second printing tower, the perfecting mechanism being selectively operable to enable the second tower to print either on the same side of each substrate sheet as the first tower or on the opposite side of each substrate sheet.
