摘要: A drum assembly for use with a coupling arrangement includes an outer member and an inner member that is mountable on the outer member. The outer member includes first and second annular portions connected together. The first annular portion has a first mating surface that defines a first opening having a first diameter, and the second annular portion defining a second opening having a second diameter that is smaller than the first diameter. The inner member includes a generally radially extending portion and a flange portion extending generally axially from the radially extending portion. The radially extending portion includes a second mating surface that is engageable with the first mating surface to interlock the inner and outer members together. When the inner member is mounted on the outer member, the radially extending portion extends into the first opening, and the flange portion extends into the second opening.

摘要: A clutch housing assembly for use in vehicle drivelines includes at least one strengthening member at an open end of the housing. The strengthening member preferably is formed by cutting away portions of the housing near the open end and then deforming the remaining portions. The deformed portions preferably are folded over and against a surface of the housing near the open end. The strengthening members provide additional strength to the housing at the open end to resist deformations that may otherwise occur because of forces incident on the assembly during operation of the vehicle driveline.

摘要: A clutch disk arrangement for a multi-disk clutch includes a hub element connectable to a shaft for rotation with the shaft about an axis of rotation. A carrier arrangement has a first carrier element and a second carrier element. The first carrier element is connected to the hub so that the first carrier element rotates with the hub. The second carrier element is connected to the first carrier element such that it is foxed with respect to rotation and axially movable relative to the first carrier element. The clutch disk arrangement further comprises at least two friction lining units. On of the friction lining units is firmly connected to the first carrier element and a second one of the friction elements is firmly connected to the second carrier element. Accordingly, the friction lining units are fixed with respect to rotation and axially movable relative to the hub element via the carrier arrangement.

摘要: An improvement in a motor vehicle transmission/casing assembly where an end pressure plate of a clutch plate assembly, is positioned on a surface of an hydraulic piston located in the casing of the transmission/casing assembly. Spaced externally extending splines on the pressure plate are positioned in correspondingly spaced channels in the interior casing wall, for arresting the pressure plate from rotation. A loosely fitted buffer member or liner is positioned in each channel between the periphery of the externally extending splines and the walls of the channel for intercepting contact between the spline of the pressure plate and the wall of the channel. A groove in a circumference of the interior wall of the casing, supports a snap ring which transverses each channel and blocks the buffer member, positioned in the channel, from slipping out of the channel. The contact intercepted by the buffer member is absorbed by the mass of the buffer member and transmitted to the walls of the channel over a substantially large area than that of the contact between the buffer member and the spline, thus preventing damage to the casing wall.

This is preferably achieved by a gradation of the disk (82) that enables a successive engagement of the disks on the torque transmission.

摘要: A clutch drum is formed from a single piece of material. The clutch drum includes an inner surface having a plurality of spline portions interspersed with inner wall spaces. Each spline portion includes at least one slot to form at least one snap ring groove within the clutch drum. The outer surface of the clutch drum is smooth and continuous and adapted to receive a brake band. The clutch drum does not include any perforations or breaks through the single piece of material forming the cylindrical portion of the clutch drum.

摘要: A splined assembly 10 is disclosed and includes a generally annular outer spline member 12 into which a second generally annular inner spline member 14 is rotatably placed. Member 12 includes a plurality of splines 22, 24, each having a snap ring reception slot 30 formed therein. In a first embodiment, housing member 12 also includes a band 34 which substantially surrounds the housing member 12 and overlays slots 30. In a second embodiment, housing 12 includes a plurality of elliptically protruding portions 40, each of which is positioned between pairs of adjacent splines 22, 24. Both band 34 and portions 40 are effective to prevent structural deformation caused by the received snap ring.

摘要: The invention relates to a multi-disk friction clutch in which the teeth of the external disks are constructed with undercut tooth profiles. Under the influence of a resulting centrifugal force acting in the center of gravity, the external disks which, with play are fitted into their outer guide, slide into an eccentric position in which they are supported on their circumference in the guide. For geometrical reasons, tooth profiles which are in a normal position with respect to the direction of the force or in shifting direction, come to rest sooner in and against the guide than obliquely extending tooth profiles. In the case of undercut teeth of the external disk, the supporting tooth profiles, viewed in the direction of the force, are disposed in front of the point of application of the force. As a result, in the case of a suitably adapted play with smaller gaps between the tooth profiles of the toothing of the exernal disks and of the outside guide than between other points of the outer contour and the outer guide, a stable support of the external disks is obtained in which the oblique positions are reset automatically. Because therefore a straightening of the external disks is ensured, they cannot cause a wobbling of the rotating internal disks.

摘要: A hydraulically operated double clutch for a motor vehicle is used for the alternating coupling of a central shaft and a hollow shaft, which is concentric to this central shaft, of a speed change gear with the clutch housing driven by the engine output shaft. Thus a gear shifting becomes possible without an interruption of the traction force. The clutch housing is composed of a left cover plate and a lateral plate, of a right cover plate and a lateral plate as well as of a casing part connecting them. At the junction planes between the left cover plate and the lateral plate as well as the right cover plate and the lateral plate, annular pistons are fitted in, which can be acted upon by hydraulic pressure and, by means of cylindrical pins, resting against them on the end face, operate the two disk bundles.
