The oxygen generation composition typically comprises a metal powder as a fuel; magnesium oxide; and an oxygen source selected from the group consisting of alkali metal chlorates, alkali metal perchlorates, and mixtures thereof. The composition can also include a transition metal oxide catalyst, and can include a binder.

摘要: An oxygen-generating candle composition is disclosed of the type that includes an amount of an alkali metal chlorate or perchlorate oxygen source and which upon initiation and decomposition yields oxygen and residual chlorine, wherein the improvement comprises a non-toxic additive in the candle composition for suppression of the residual chlorine and to enhance uniform oxygen generation and evolution. The additive is selected from the group consisting of from about 0.05% to about 10% by weight of lithium aluminate, metaborate, tetraborate, phosphate or pyrophosphate, metasilicate or orthsilicate, or carbonate, calcium phosphate or pyrophosphate, strontium carbonate or phosphate, or sodium metasilicate or orthosilicate. A metal oxide catalyst, a metal powder fuel, and a binder or filler are also included in the composition.

摘要: An oxygen generator comprising a housing and a chemical core within the housing, the chemical core being capable on ignition of producing oxygen by chemical reaction. An ignition apparatus within the housing is for igniting the chemical core, and a collection apparatus within the housing collects oxygen produced by the chemical core. The collection apparatus comprises a cooling chamber having an inlet through which oxygen produced by the chemical core enters into the cooling chamber, and an outlet through which oxygen in the cooling chamber leaves the cooling chamber. The interior of the cooling chamber has at least one wall arranged in the path of oxygen flowing from the inlet to the outlet.

摘要: Provided are methods and devices for storing and generating oxygen from a low temperature oxygen generating liquid. The oxygen storage method may use lithium chlorate plus water to store oxygen wherein all solids that may be present enter solution for delivery as a liquid to a reaction vessel. The oxygen production method may be a batch process with steps to heat the liquid, boil out the water, thermally decompose the lithium chlorate and then rinse out the remaining product. The apparatus for oxygen generation may use multiple reaction vessels operating sequentially to produce a continuous flow of oxygen with a rinse step in a separate area from the heat application area to remove end product solid. The device for oxygen storage includes a storage vessel and is configured to heat the oxygen generating liquid using waste heat present in the rinse liquid.
