    摘要: A magnetic separator system includes a lower conveyor adapted to convey comingled materials to be separated and an upper conveyor disposed above the lower conveyor. The magnetic separator system also includes at least one magnet extending along a length of the upper conveyor to transfer metallic materials from the comingled materials to the upper conveyor. The magnetic separator system further includes an oscillator for moving along the at least one magnet in a reversing motion across a width of the upper conveyor causing the metallic materials to flip over and over and enabling non-metallic materials entrapped with the metallic materials to become separated from the metallic materials and fall to the lower conveyor.

    摘要: What is presented is a process for scrap metal processing for shredding and sorting recoverable material from a material stream that comprises a ferrous fraction, a non-ferrous fraction, a waste fraction and a less ferrous fraction that includes composite materials. The process comprises first shredding the material stream with a first shredder to a size that enables downstream processing. The shredded material stream is then conveyed to at least one drum separator to remove the non-ferrous fraction from the material stream and then conveyed to a first conveyor separator to further separate the ferrous fraction from the material stream. At the completion of these steps the remaining material stream to be handled by downstream processes represents 10% to 40% of the original material stream as compared to 70% to 75% of the material stream in the prior art.

The ratio between the effective magnetic length of the ferrite magnets (12) and of the rare earth magnets (13) is preferably 2:1, and the preferred materials are strontium ferrite for the former and iron-boron-neodymium for the latter. In this way it is possible to combine the magnetic characteristics of the two types of permanent magnets so as to make them complementary and thus enhance the attractive effectiveness of the separator both for ferromagnetic materials with high or low shape factor, and for materials with high or low and sometimes very low permeability.

    摘要: A tracking system employs a strip of readily magnetizable material adhered to at least one edge of a conveyor belt used with a magnetic roll separator. The magnetic field produced by the head roller of the conveyor belt produces a continuous centering force which acts on the easily magnetized material providing proper tracking for the conveyor belt. The readily magnetizable material can be attached directly to either surface of the belt, have an edge portion of the belt wrapped around it or, in the form of a woven wire mesh, have the belt integrated into it by vulcanization. The strip of material may be continuous or intermittent.
