Abstract: Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a method in which a processing system identifies a plurality of performance indicators comprising device performance indicators for a plurality of communication devices on a cellular network and network performance indicators for the cellular network. The method also includes obtaining historical data regarding the plurality of performance indicators for each of a series of time points during a past time period; the historical data for each of the plurality of performance indicators form an array of values for that performance indicator. The method further includes generating from each array a set of inputs to an algorithm for predicting a throughput of the cellular network during a future time period; the set of inputs comprises quantiles of the array, and the algorithm comprises a machine learning algorithm. The method also includes measuring a second performance metric of the network after at least one of the tasks has been completed and comparing the first performance metric to the second performance metric to determine a recommendation for whether to deploy the software change on the plurality of VNFs. The tasks are based upon a change management workflow created using a graphical model, the graphical model comprising modular building blocks selected from a change management catalog.

Abstract: Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a method for spherical video streaming over a network by a processing system including a processor, the method including prefetching audio data for rendering the spherical video; determining whether there is a single source or a plurality of sources of audio in the audio data; responsive to a determination that there is only one dominant source of the audio in the audio data, prefetching video data in a field of view centered on spatial coordinates of the dominant source of audio; responsive to a determination that there is the plurality of sources of the audio in the audio data, sorting the plurality of sources of the audio according to an estimated sound source energy for each source in the plurality of sources, thereby creating a sorted list of the plurality of sources; and prefetching video data in plural fields of view centered on spatial coordinates of each audio source in the sorted list of the plurality of sources, wherein the prefetching is performed in an order corresponding to the sorted list, and wherein the prefetching occurs within an available bandwidth of the network. Abstract: Software downloads to Internet of things (IoT) devices are facilitated over a constrained network. In one embodiment a method comprises monitoring, by a network device comprising a processor, data determined to have been sent to a device for transmission to the device via a radio access network device of a wireless communication network, and determining, by the network device, a type of traffic associated with the data. The method further includes based on a determination that the data comprises firmware and that the type of traffic is of a traffic priority that is lower than a defined traffic priority, applying, by the network device, a low priority transport protocol to the data, wherein the applying comprises associating protocol information with the data representative of the low priority transport protocol.

Abstract: Concepts and technologies for adaptive cloud offloading of mobile augmented reality are provided herein. In an embodiment, a method can include receiving, by an augmented reality system, an acquired image frame captured by an acquisition device. The acquired image frame can indicate a plurality of acquired image frame parameters. The method can include determining, by the augmented reality system, a plurality of augmented reality process instances. The method can include determining a plurality of local feature extraction time estimates based on the plurality of acquired image frame parameters, where a local feature extraction time estimate is created for each of the plurality of the augmented reality process instances. The method can include obtaining a network condition measurement, and generating a plurality of offload commands based on the network condition measurement and at least one of the plurality of local feature extraction time estimates.
