摘要: In various embodiments, methods and systems for implementing a device management system with a restore prevention utility are provided. A request is received, at a control server, for an installation file for a restore prevention application. Based on receiving the request, the control server circumvents communication of the installation file based on transmitting a response code. The response code is an informational code that operates as an indicator to wait for a final response. Transmitting the response code triggers maintaining a pending state for the restore prevention application at the controlled device. The pending state includes the restore prevention application partially installed such that when the restore prevention application is partially installed an operating system cleanup utility operation to restore default device configurations for arranging application icons on the controlled device, is circumvented, to maintain an existing device configuration for arranging application icons on the controlled device.

摘要: The present teaching relates to a method, system, and programming for determining a source of a data object. A first average latency of a plurality of users in accessing the data object from the first data source is computed, wherein the first data source was previously identified as being the source of the data object. From each of other data sources, a second average latency of the plurality of users in accessing the data object from the other data source is obtained. In response to the first data source satisfying a first criterion associated with the first average latency, the first data source is maintained to be the source of the data object. In response to the first data source violating the first criterion, one of the other data sources that satisfies a second criterion associated with the second average latency is deemed as the source of the data object.

摘要: Systems and methods are disclosed for protecting user privacy in, for example, online advertising environments. The method includes receiving data related to a user in a first communication session between a host server and a client device, and generating a user profile associated with the user. The method further may include encrypting the user profile to produce encrypted user profile data and generating a decryption key for decrypting the encrypted user profile data. Thereafter, either the decryption key or a portion of the encrypted user profile data may be transmitted to the client device and then deleted from host server before ending the first communication session. The method further may include establishing a second communication session between the host server and the client device and retrieving the transmitted content. Then targeted advertising may be provided by decrypting the encrypted user profile data.

The method includes operations for presenting an interface running on a client device that includes a plurality of content indicators associated with a plurality of content items. The method includes an operation for selectively preloading into a cache of the client device a resource associated with a content item if the content item has a level of engagement that is greater than that of other content items. According to this embodiment, the level of engagement is a measurement of interaction to the content items by other users associated with the user by, for example, a social network. The method further includes retrieving and using the resource for presenting the content item via the interface such that the content item is presented in less time than if the resource were not preloaded to the cache based on the level of engagement.

A first bitrate associated with the first level of complexity may be determined, and a second bitrate associated with the second level of complexity may be determined. The first portion may be encoded at the first bitrate to generate a first encoded portion, and the second portion may be encoded at the second bitrate to generate a second encoded portion. The first encoded portion and the second encoded portion may be assembled to generate an optimized video file.

In response to the time-related criterion being satisfied, the portion of the URL is decrypted based on the second key to obtain a keyword, one or more search results are obtained based on the keyword, and a webpage including the one or more search results to be provided to a user is generated.
