    Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment may determine at least one of: a first number of coefficients to be included in a first set of coefficients in a transfer domain that characterize compressed channel state information (CSI) for a first layer, or a first quantization scheme to be used to interpret the first set of coefficients. The UE may determine at least one of: a second number of coefficients to be included in a second set of coefficients in the transfer domain that characterize the compressed CSI for a second layer, or a second quantization scheme to be used to interpret the second set of coefficients. The UE may transmit a report that identifies the first set of coefficients and the second set of coefficients based at least in part on the determination(s). Other aspects are provided.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described in which multiple devices may implement sidelink communications for direct device-to-device exchange of information. Such devices (e.g., user equipment (UE) devices) may be configured with resources for sidelink communications, and may monitor for a sidelink preemption indication (SPI) from a base station and determine whether one or more sidelink communications is preempted based on the SPI. The sidelink communications may include a feedback communication that is transmitted using sidelink feedback resources. Based on an indication in a received SPI, it may be determined whether or not to transmit sidelink feedback. The sidelink feedback may be transmitted to one or more other sidelink devices, or to a base station, and preemption of the sidelink feedback may be determined based on one or more parameters associated with the sidelink communications, associated with the SPI, or any combinations thereof.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for uplink channel state information (CSI) reporting that supports transmission precoding matrix indicator (TPMI) selection. A user equipment (UE) may receive CSI reference signals (CSI-RSs), and may perform measurements on the CSI-RSs. The UE may transmit an uplink CSI report to a base station based on the measurements. The CSI report may include an indication of a set of one or more candidate TPMIs, rank indicators (RIs), or both. The base station may test the candidate TPMIs, one or more other TPMIs, or both, to received sounding reference signals (SRSs) and select a TPMI for subsequent signaling. The base station may transmit an uplink grant (e.g., via downlink control information (DCI)) indicating the selected TPMI. The DCI may be a single-stage DCI a timeline.

    Abstract: Methods systems and devices for wireless communications are described. One or more multiple access-capable user equipments (UEs) may be grouped together for transmitting uplink multiple access communications to a base station, where the UEs may be assigned to the group based on similar capabilities or service requirements. The UE may receive configuration information based at least in part on the group to which the UE has been assigned. When assigned to a group, the UEs may also receive a group-specific scrambling code for the uplink multiple access communications, a group-specific power control for the uplink multiple access communications, time and frequency resources to be used for the uplink multiple access communications specific to the group, or a combination thereof. Additionally, the specific time and frequency resources may be defined by multiple access resource units.

A base station may receive, from a user equipment (UE), a first random access message of a two-step random access procedure. In some examples, the first random access message may be transmitted by the UE based on one or more cell-specific transmission parameters or cell-specific transmission schemes. The base station may transmit a first control message to the UE to indicate a set of downlink resources for a downlink message associated with the subband uplink precoding information for the UE. The base station may transmit the downlink message to the UE via the set of downlink resources indicated by the first control message. The downlink message, the second control message, or both may include the subband uplink precoding information for the UE. The UE may transmit an uplink message to the base station via the set of uplink resources using the subband uplink precoding information.
