摘要: A machine reading system is described herein that includes a framework in which grammar rules can be developed using a concise language that combines syntax and semantics. The resulting technology thus reduces the development time for new grammars in a new domain. An enormous amount of information appears in the form of natural language across millions of academic papers and other literature sources. For example, in the biological domain, there is a tremendous ongoing effort to extract individual chemical interactions from these texts, but these interactions are only isolated fragments of larger causal mechanisms such as protein signaling pathways. The proposed rule-based event extraction framework can model underlying syntactic representations of events in order to extract signaling pathway fragments. Though application to the biomedical domain is herein described, the framework is domain-independent and is expressive enough to capture most complex events annotated by domain experts.

摘要: Methods and apparatus for managing information relating to recycling activities are described. One embodiment described herein is directed to a method for accessing aggregated recycling information for use and/or display in connection with an account-based recycling program. The method comprises receiving first and second container information, the first container information concerning a plurality of first containers for a first recycling transaction and the second container information concerning a plurality of second containers for a second recycling transaction. The first and second container information is stored and associated account information concerning at least one consumer account. The method further comprises accessing, in response to receiving a query relating to a plurality of recycling transactions, information relating to at least the first and second containers so as to enable the use and/or display of aggregated recycling information.

The OLTP processing engine is configured to process OLTP queries, and the OLAP processing engine is configured to process OLAP queries. The query processing engine may comprise a transition determination engine configured to determine when to transition query processing between OLTP query processing mode and OLAP query processing mode.

摘要: According to one embodiment, a parameter optimization apparatus stores data sets which each include a first parameter value of a first number of dimensions and an observed value of an objective function corresponding to the first parameter value. The apparatus determines a search space of a second number of dimensions smaller than the first number of dimensions. The apparatus acquires one or more data sets each having a first parameter value present within a predetermined distance from the search space. The apparatus searches the search space for a first parameter value that may optimize the objective function, using a surrogate model of an objective function based on one or more data sets acquired.
