    Abstract: A mechanical automatic fluid consumption limiting apparatus for limiting flow through a primary flow line includes an actuating line, a control line, a rotary meter, a control assembly, an actuating valve, a diaphragm valve on the primary line, an eductor and an engagement controller. The actuating valve, initially spring-biased to a non-actuating position, is rotated to an actuating position effecting closure of the diaphragm valve responsive to a predetermined quantity of flow through the rotary meter and mechanical response of the control assembly. An eductor diaphragm is positioned within the eductor responsive to flow through the primary line and pressure from the actuating line. The engagement controller is connected to the eductor diaphragm. The control line by-passes the diaphragm valve to provide pressure within the eductor to re-position the eductor diaphragm after closure of the diaphragm valve. Such re-positioning causes linear displacement of the engagement controller to disconnect the control assembly connection of the rotary meter and the actuating valve, allowing the actuating valve to reset to an initial position, thereby relieving pressure in the diaphragm valve and allowing the diaphragm valve to reopen and allowing resumption of flow through the primary line.

    Abstract: A control valve assembly for flushing a sanitary fixture includes a burst valve for supplying flush water flow at the beginning of a flush cycle and an independently controlled bypass valve for providing trap reseal flow after the burst valve closes. The burst valve includes a timing sleeve cooperating with a lifting piston to define a timing chamber communicating with inlet pressure through an orifice. A piston collar cooperates with the lifting piston to define the bypass valve. A lifting chamber defined between the body and the lifting piston communicates with the outlet through a metering valve assembly. Actuation of the metering valve assembly empties the lifting chamber and lifts the timing sleeve, opening the burst valve. The burst valve is closed when the timing chamber fills at a rate controlled by the orifice. The bypass valve is maintained open by pressure differential across the bypass valve to supply trap reseal flow until the metering valve assembly recloses.

    Abstract: A fluid control apparatus is for controlling water supply to a potted plant and has a main valve responsive to weight of the potted plant.     Abstract: A valve (10) for draining liquid from a reservoir, for example, the reservoir (56) in the base of an evaporative cooler (50). The valve (10) comprises a housing (12) having a first inlet (14) for supplying a pressure transmitting fluid, for example water, to the housing and an outlet (18) for draining liquid from the reservoir. A plunger (22) is slidably received in the housing (12) and adapted to move from an open position in which the outlet (18) is open and liquid can drain out, and a closed position in which the plunger (22) closes the outlet (18) and the liquid is prevented from draining out. Water is supplied under pressure to the upper portion (32) of the housing via inlet (14) and a sealing ring (36) allows a build-up of pressure in the upper portion (32), sufficient to overcome the force of a biasing spring (24), to cause the plunger (22) to move from its open to its closed position. When the water pressure in upper portion (32) of the housing is reduced, the spring (24) causes the plunger (22) to return to its open position. The valve (10) can be fitted to an evaporative cooler so as to automatically open and close when the cooler is switched OFF and ON respectively.

    Abstract: A metering valve is provided having a piston assembly mounted for movement between open and close modes. The piston assembly is biased to assume a close mode.     Abstract: A hydraulic fuse monitors the quantity of hydraulic fluid passing through the fuse, and then blocks such flow when a selected quantity of fluid has passed through the fuse.
