    摘要: A cable gland and methods for earthing, grounding, bonding, and electromagnetic capability with armored, metal-clad, and metallic-sheathed cable types. The cable gland comprises a gland body, a plurality of extensions, an elastomer seal, a compression member configured to rotate the plurality of extensions towards to the elastomer seal, and an earthing insert mounted in the gland body configured to electrically connect a cable to a neutral and/or grounded conductor. The cable gland is configured to provide an air-tight seal between the exterior of the cable and the elastomer seal through rotation of the plurality of extension upon the elastomer seal. The cable gland may include an o-ring and nut to secure the cable gland to a planar body. The earthing insert comprises a grounding spring in electrical communication with a metallic portion of the cable and a neutral and/or grounded conductor.

    摘要: A plug connection kit for connecting a branch line to a through line, comprising a plug housing and a socket housing that enclose contact inserts. Flexible cable ends are molded onto the plug housing and socket housing. The plug housing and socket housing are each manufactured by casting plastic onto a base body with the contact inserts and flexible cable ends connected thereto inserted, thus forming a solid one-piece plug and a solid one-piece socket. The female and male contact inserts are electrically connectable to one another in a contact area between the plug housing and the socket housing. The plug connection kit also includes a sealing sleeve that encases the plug housing, the socket housing, and the contact area between the two housings in order to protect the plug connection kit from penetration of water and/or dust.

    摘要: A liquid-tight strain relief includes a tubular-shaped bushing and a dome-shaped gland. The bushing includes a flange with arcuate slots, a centrally-located aperture, a plurality of resilient outer fingers, and a shoe slideably received within a lateral groove of the bushing. The gland includes a head having a centrally-located membrane. The head is co-molded with and encapsulates the flange, resulting in a strain relief having a unitary construction. The strain relief is adapted to be inserted within an orifice of a work piece, and the outer fingers frictionally engage the work piece. A cable is inserted within the strain relief by puncturing the membrane, which then stretches and provides a seal against the cable. The cable is gripped to the strain relief when the shoe is pressed against the cable. The shoe is held against the cable by teeth on the shoe, which engage opposing locking ribs on the bushing.

    摘要: A method for making a downhole electrical feedthrough package where the feedthrough package may include a metal shell forming a shell conduit. A metal web may be coupled to the metal shell, and the metal web may form a web conduit. A conducting pin may extend through the shell conduit and web conduit. A dielectric seal may electrically isolate the conducting pin from the metal web. The dielectric seal may be formed by a bismuth glass based dielectric sealing material system having at least two of the four components selected from Bi2O3, B2O3, MO, and optionally REO forming a bismuth glass system. MO may be selected from ZnO, BaO, TiO2, and Fe2O3, and their glass making pre-cursors. REO may be selected from CeO2, Y2O3, Sc2O3, Nd2O3, Pr2O3, and lanthanum series oxides. One or more isolators may be disposed within the shell conduit proximate to the dielectric seal and surrounding a portion of the conducting pin.
