    摘要: A corner piece for a sheet metal connector system that includes coupling members which have a V-shaped cross section and inwardly turned retaining edges spaced a given distance from the apex of the V includes a first leg which has a width slightly less than the given distance and a length, and a second leg which has a width slightly less than the given distance and a length which extends at an angle other than 180 degrees with respect to the first leg's length. The first leg may be snugly fitted between the apex of a first V-shaped coupling member and the inwardly turned edge of the first coupling member and the second leg may be snugly fitted between the apex of a second V-shaped coupling member and the inwardly turned edge of the second coupling member to join the two coupling members together at the angle. The first and second legs may be identical separate pieces which can intersect and be joined.

    摘要: An apparatus for and method of installing angle plates at the corners of ducts which has at the opposite ends of each panel of the duct channel shaped flanges into which is installed an angle plate with the angle plates being utilized to secure adjacent ducts together utilizing fasteners. The angle plates are configurated so as to be automatically fed by way of a supply hopper and associated machinery is constructed whereby a lowermost angle plate in a stack is automatically fed into position overlying duct channel flanges after the duct has been clamped in place followed by the forcing of the angle plate into the duct channel flanges and the securement of the angle plate in place. There is a notch in each corner of the duct between adjacent channel flanges and the angle plate is initially positioned with a corner portion thereof tilted downwardly into the notch, after which the angle plate is pressed into the two channel flanges. The machine may place two angle flanges into two corners of one end of the duct and, further, there may be two sets of machinery so as to simultaneously place angle plates into the channel flanges at both the bottom and top of a duct. Finally, the duct may come with two portions joined by a seam which is automatically locked together at the time of the placement of the angle plates.

    摘要: A profile for the coupling of adjoining channel members comprises a front wall for extending perpendicularly from a wall of the channel member, a back wall extending at least partially parallel to the front wall, a front flange connected to the front wall, a back flange connected to the back wall and a deformable sealing material in the space between the front wall, the back wall and the flanges. The profile is constructed by folding a strip of material along parallel fold lines. A deformable sealing material is applied to the strip, and when the strip is folded, the sealing material is deformed so as to fill a substantial portion of the space between the front wall, the back wall, the front flange and the back flange of the profile.

The folding operation can be performed with hand tools such as hammers and the like. Using appropriate seals, an air tight, mechanically sound duct joint is accomplished. The brackets and the bracket inter-connection system are particularly suited for use with air conditioning duct networks.

    摘要: In the case of a flange connection for rectangular air conditioning ducts which have four walls, four flange profiles with four rectangular angle-pieces are fitted frame-wise on the end of a duct portion. The flange profiles are in this case subhstantially L-shaped hollow profiles which are in each case fitted onto a duct wall and fixed there with a plurality of spot welds. Problematical is the seal between the inner arm of the flange profile and the duct wall, because by reason of spot welds which are situated close to but at a distance from one another, air can flow out into the free atmosphere between them and over the end face of the duct wall. In order to achieve better tightness, there is formed into the hollow profile a bead extending from the front radial portion. An inner arc of the bead lies with a clamping fit on the top of the duct wall and presses it against the inner longitudinal arm so achieving a seal which it is possible easily to implement in manufacture. The arc and the arc which merges into the inner longitudinal arm have relatively large radii, so that manufacturing the profile on a profile rolling plant presents no difficulties. Application: to the manufacture of prefabricated partial ducts for rapidly assembling air conditioning ducts, for purposes of ventilation, heating or cooling large projects.
