Abstract:
A front derailleur for use on devices such as bicycles is movable about a yaw axis while it moves laterally. The front derailleur may include a linkage in between a mount and a cage, with the linkage pivoting about two non-parallel axes. The front derailleur may include a linkage in between the mount and the cage that has links of different effective lengths. The front derailleur may include a single link and a cam.
Abstract:
A linear derailleur for positioning a drive chain in response to displacement of a plurality of control cables. The derailleur includes a linear actuator having a substantially uniform actuation ratio over the range of motion of the actuator and, hence, derailleur. The linear actuator also has a mean actuation ratio over its range of motion equal to Cos .theta.:1, where .theta. equals the angle of inclination of the actuator.
Abstract:
An electrical actuator for a bicycle front derailleur making use of a standard wireless remote control (RC) servo unit relying exclusively on highly efficient spur gearing reduction and facilitating highly accurate derailleur positioning thereof through an integral digital magnetic rotary encoder with assembly thereof sealed in a two-piece housing and serving to transmit actuation effort thereof directly to actuation shaft of a front derailleur.
Abstract:
A front derailleur device for a bicycle chain shift includes a frame fixing part for attachment to a bicycle frame, a hinge arrangement which is pivotable relative to the frame fixing part, and a chain cage which is pivotable relative to the frame fixing part via the pivotable hinge arrangement for guiding and pivoting of the bicycle chain. The hinge arrangement includes at least two hinged struts which can be mounted rotatably relative to the frame fixing part and relative to the chain cage about pivot axes. The pivot axes run substantially parallel to each other and, in a mounted state of the derailleur device on a bicycle, may be oriented substantially vertically.
Abstract:
A front derailleur includes a base member, a chain guide, a link mechanism and a cable guiding structure. The base member is fixedly coupled to a bicycle. The chain guide is configured to guide a chain. The link mechanism movably couples the chain guide to the base member between a retracted position and an extended position in response to movement of an operation cable. The cable guiding structure has one of bore, recess and groove formed on the link mechanism to guide the operation cable. The operation cable exits forwardly from the cable guiding structure within a sector having an angle of 150 degrees around the crank axis from an upper radius lying in a first plane that is perpendicular to a second plane containing a crank axis and a rear wheel axis.
Abstract:
A bicycle front derailleur is basically provided with a base member and a movable member. The base member includes a bicycle mounting portion. The movable member is movably supported to the base member between a retracted position and an extended position relative to the base member. The movable member includes a first guide plate having a first inner surface and a second guide plate having a second inner surface. The first and second inner surfaces face each other to form a chain receiving slot therebetween. The second guide plate includes an adjustable guide member that is arranged at the chain receiving slot to move between at least two different positions relative to the second guide plate.
Abstract:
A bicycle front derailleur that includes a main body and a chain guide operatively coupled to the main body. The chain guide includes a first plate, a second plate, and a contact member affixed to the first plate. The contact member includes a flexible portion that is adapted to flex when contacted by a chain running through the chain guide.

A front derailleur is basically provided with abuse member, a chain guide, a link mechanism and a cable guiding structure. The base member is fixedly coupled to a bicycle. The chain guide is configured to guide a chain. The link mechanism movably couples the chain guide to the base member between a retracted position and an extended position in response to movement of an operation cable. The link mechanism includes a cable attachment portion that is configured to be attached to the operation cable. The cable guiding structure guides the operation cable from the cable attachment portion. The cable guiding structure is disposed on at least one of the base member and the link mechanism. The cable guiding structure has a cable exit that is arranged such that the operation cable exits forwardly from the cable guiding structure towards the front of the bicycle.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a bicycle derailleur gear, particularly a front derailleur gear, with improved reliability that comprises a kinematic mechanism in the form of a four-bar linkage with a base body and a mobile body connected together through a pair of connecting rods hinged to the base body and to the mobile body at four pin elements, the mobile body carrying a chain guide, the four-bar linkage-kinematic mechanism being associated with derailleur gear actuation means suitable for deforming the four-bar linkage-kinematic mechanism so as to determine a displacement of the mobile body with respect to the base body and consequently a displacement of the chain guide, the derailleur gear actuation means being of the motorized type and comprising a motor casing and an outlet shaft that projects directly from said motor casing and characterised in that the actuation means command a translation in the axial direction of the outlet shaft with respect to the motor casing and are mounted between distinct components of the four-bar linkage-kinematic mechanism through interposition of at least one tilting interface about a fifth pin element substantially parallel to the pin elements.
