    摘要: A heat sensitive recording material which comprises a support having thereon a heat sensitive layer containing at least color former-contained microcapsules and a color developer, with the heat sensitive layer being formed using a colorless or light colored precursor of a basic dye as the color former, and according to a process which comprises preparing a coating composition by mixing the color former-contained microcapsules with an emulsified dispersion prepared by dissolving at least the color developer into an organic solvent which is slightly soluble or insoluble in water, and then dispersing the solution in an emulsified condition, coating the resulting composition on the support, and then drying the coat, whereby the heat sensitive layer comes to acquire both excellent transparency and high sensitivity to heat.

    摘要: The process for producing microcapsules comprises forming capsules having a wall film composed of an amine-aldehyde polycondensate in a system in which a hydrophobic core substance is dispersed or emulsified in an acid aqueous solution containing an anionic colloidal substance, said anionic colloidal substance being an anionic water-soluble copolymer composed of acrylic acid, styrenesulfonic acid, and alkyl acrylate or alkyl methacrylate. The present invention decreases the large particles present in the capsule slurry, and provides microcapsule which are excellent in emulsification power, emulsification stability, particle size distribution, impermeability of capsule-wall film and workability.

    摘要: In microcapsules of the type used for pressure-sensitive, carbonless copy papers, having walls formed from aliphatic diisocyanate and diamine and containing a solvent mixture with a dye precursor dissolved therein, the solvent mixture containing a component which easily dissolves the dye precursor and the capsule wall material and a component which only poorly dissolves the dye precursor and the capsule wall, the improvement comprising the poorly dissolving solvent component is an alkylbenzene having from 8 up to 14 C-atoms in the alkyl moiety; and the easily dissolving solvent component is selected from the group consisting of diisopropyl naphthalene, a hydrogenated terphenyl, an alkylated diphenyl, a diphenyl alkane, a chloroparaffin and a mixture thereof, the ratio of easily to poorly dissolving components ranging form 15:85 to 75:25 vol %, and being adjusted within this range so that a solution of the wall-forming aliphatic diisocyanate is just at the turbidity point in the mixture of easily dissolving and poorly dissolving components.

    摘要: A carbonless paper solvent, a method of solubilizing a chromogenic material, and a recording sheet, all utilizing triisopropyltoluene, are the subject of the present invention. Triisopropyltoluene may be obtained by the alkylation of toluene and the resulting product will normally contain the 2,3,5, the 2,4,5 and the 2,4,6 isomers. The triisopropyltoluene may be combined with other known dye solvents such as alkylated naphthalenes, diarylmethanes and alkylated biphenyls to present a carbonless paper solvent or it may be utilized alone. The triisopropyltoluene will normally be present in a quantity of at least 40% by weight of the total solvent. A recording sheet may be formed by a paper which is coated with a continuous layer of microcapsules containing chromogenic marking material and a solvent comprising triisopropyltoluene.

    摘要: Disclosed is a pressure-sensitive record unit which comprises a top sheet having coated on the underside thereof solid color former material and a bottom sheet having coated on the upper side thereof a coating comprising solid color developer material and microcapsules containing a liquid solvent for the color former. Such a record unit makes possible the unexpectedly efficient utilization of the color former material. It furthermore permits the printing application of some of the components, resulting in even more efficient utilization of color former material and elimination of undesirable side effects of printed record units taught in the prior art.
