Abstract:
The invention relates to a pigment composition containing a disazo pigment of formula (I), and at least one pigment from the group of organic orange, red and violet pigments.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a process for the preparation of a dry toner powder containing a wax component and formed using a limited coalescence suspension polymerization process. Both conventional and aqueous dispersed waxes may be used to form the toner particles. Likewise, both dry and aqueous dispersed pigments may be used. The resulting toner provides properties desired in the next generation of toners including small uniform particle size as well as desirable anti-blocking and high-temperature anti-offset properties.
Abstract:
A yellow toner in which, in a spectral-distribution diagram in which the reflectance (%) is plotted as ordinate and the wavelength (nm) as abscissa, the reflectance determined for a toner in a state of powder ranges from 15% to 20% at a wavelength of 500 nm and ranges from 75% to 80% at a wavelength of 600 nm, a cyan toner in which, in the like spectral-distribution diagram, the reflectance determined for a toner in a state of powder ranges from 30% to 35% at a wavelength of 450 nm and ranges from 35% to 40% at a wavelength of 475 nm, and a magenta toner in which, in the like spectral-distribution diagram, the reflectance determined for a toner in a state of powder ranges from 5% to 10% at a wavelength of 425 nm and ranges from 65% to 70% at a wavelength of 675 nm. These color toners each contain corresponding pigments in specific combination, and promise color reproduction which can ensure the color tones of process inks.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a toner, comprising a binder resin, a colorant and two kinds of infrared absorbing agents, and having a maximum absorbance of the toner in a wavelength range of 810 to 870 nm that is greater, preferably two or more times greater than the maximum absorbance of the toner in a wavelength range of 870 to 1,000 nm, and also relates to an image-forming method which uses a flash fixing system with a xenon lamp serving as its light source, and is characterized by using the above-mentioned toner.
Abstract:
A method of preparing a toner composition includes mixing a colorant dispersion and a latex solution and coagulating to form the core of the toner particle; adding a polymerization initiator to the core; and adding a monomer to the core to form a shell of the toner particle through polymerization on the core surface. According to the present invention, a toner composition by which a shape of a toner may be readily embodied even with high durability, may be prepared by a toner having core/shell structures.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to the use of wax-coated pigment granules as colorants in electrophotographic toners and developers, powder coating materials, inkjet inks, electret fibers, and color filters, wherein the coated pigment granules have a particle size of between 0.05 and 5 mm and a wax content of from 1 to 50% by weight, based on the overall weight of the coated pigment granules.
Abstract:
A method of producing an iridescent reflecting surface on an object is presented. Flakes of dry non metallic reflecting material such as cholesteric liquid crystal (CLC) material are applied to the surface so that the flakes are parallel with the surface and bound with a binder to the surface.

Abstract:
A system and a method for printing a secure document that is difficult to forge and readily easy to visually verify are disclosed. The system includes a colorant for printing an image on a surface of a document, a dye for forming a latent version of the image underneath the surface, a substrate, and a migration agent for facilitating the migration of the dye through at least a portion of the substrate. The migration agent may be coated onto a portion of the substrate or embedded within the substrate. An ink may serve as the migration agent, in which case, the ink contains a solute for the dye.
