摘要： A textile material whose fibers have been coated, at least in part, with fluorocarbon particles is usable in an electrophotographic printing machine to clean toner particles off a fuser roll, and to supply a toner release agent to the fuser roll. The textile material can include woven goods, as well as non-woven felts and the like. The resultant product has reduced friction and decreased fiber shedding.

摘要： A method of fusing a heat-softenable toner image to a substrate in which a release oil is applied to the surface of a fusing member, the fusing member is incubated at an elevated temperature for a time sufficient to bond a protective layer of the release oil to the surface thereof, and the toner image is pressure contacted with the fusing member at a temperature effective to fuse the toner image to the substrate, is characterized in that the surface of the fusing member is comprised of a fluoroelastomer and the release oil is an Si--H functionalized organopolysiloxane. The method provides excellent toner release characteristics and is advantageous in that it utilizes release oils that are free from offensive odor and toxicity.

摘要： A release agent (i.e. silicone oil) management system including a metering roll supported for contact with release agent material contained in a sump. The metering roll contacts a donor brush which, in turn, contacts one of a pair of fuser roll member. The donor brush comprises a rigid core having a non-woven felt layer adhered to the core. The felt layer provides a soft, nip forming layer. The felt layer is covered with a woven tube of Nomex to reduce the loss of loose fibers from the Nomex material. An oil barrier layer is provided between the Nomex tube and the felt layer for preventing or minimizing oil penetration into the oil permeable nip forming felt layer.

摘要： In the fixing device with no oil leakage and a stable oil applying performance, the paper with a pre-fixed toner image is transmitted through the pressurized contact portion between a fixing roller and a pressurizing roller. An oil applying roller applied a silicon oil to the fixing roller. An oil applying felt with one end submerged to an oil tank contacts the oil applying roller. Further, in the outer side of the oil applying felt is mounted an oil collecting felt, which transmits extra oil wiped away by an equalizing member to the oil tank. The oil applying felt and the oil collecting felt is held by a felt holding plate, and is pressed towards the oil applying roller by a pressurizing spring.

摘要： An oil holding cylinder for an oil coating roller is provided. The cylinder includes at least a cylindrical non-sintered molded body, which is formulated from a mixture of at least ceramic fiber and an organic binder. In addition, the mixture can further include clay, an inorganic binder, or a combination thereof. The molded body preferably has a porosity in a range of about 30% to about 70%. In operation, the oil holding cylinder disclosed herein can stably and uniformly supply oil to the fixing rollers and the like for an extended period of time, while preventing offset.

摘要： A release agent composition for use in an electrophotographic process is disclosed. This composition includes a specifically-defined heat-stable silicone oil-silicone wax random copolymer. The copolymer has a melting point such that it is liquid on the hot fuser roll, but solidifies at room temperature on the printed page. A random silicone copolymer, in the form of a paste or pliable caulk, which is useful for sealing leaks in toner cartridges is also disclosed. Finally, the method for preparing these copolymers is disclosed.
