    Abstract: A device configured to fix toner to a sheet including a tubular body, a heater, and a heat conduction section. The tubular body is configured to be in contact with a sheet moving in a first direction. The heater includes a heat generator. The heater includes a first surface and a second surface on the opposite side of the first surface. The first surface of the heater is in contact with the inner surface of the tubular body. The heat conduction section is in contact with the second surface of the heater. The heat conduction section includes a first heat transfer section and a second heat transfer section. The first heat transfer section is in contact with the second surface of the heater. The second heat transfer section is in contact with the surface opposite to the heater with respect to the first heat transfer section.

    Abstract: Provided is a fixing apparatus that fixes an unfixed image on a sheet by causing the sheet to pass through a fixing nip formed by pressing a belt by a pressurizing roller, a lubricant being applied on an inner peripheral surface of the belt, the pressurizing roller being disposed on an outer peripheral side of the belt, and the fixing apparatus includes: a non-rotary pad including a pressed part disposed on an inner peripheral side of the belt and pressed by the pressurizing roller via the belt, and a guide that is disposed upstream of the pressed part in a belt circulating direction and guides the belt to the fixing nip; and a pressure application part that applies a pressure between an end of the belt in a belt width direction and the guide at a position upstream of and immediately before the fixing nip in the belt circulating direction.

    Abstract: A heating device includes a heating roller that includes a resistance heating layer, a bearing that supports the heating roller to allow the heating roller to be rotatable, and a connection power feeder that is mounted on an end portion of the heating roller, is connected to the resistance heating layer, and feeds power to the resistance heating layer, in which the connection power feeder includes an annular frame that is disposed to be concentric with the heating roller and is conductively connected to the resistance heating layer, a power feed shaft of which a portion is disposed in the frame and which feeds power, and plural rolling bodies that roll while being in conductive contact with an inner peripheral surface of the frame and an outer peripheral surface of the power feed shaft, and the bearing is mounted on a portion of the end portion of the heating roller that is closer to an inside than the connection power feeder in an axial direction.

    Abstract: A pressure switching mechanism includes a rotatable support, a biasing member, and a switching rotation member. The rotatable support rotates around a first rotation shaft to support a contact member such that the contact member is movable in a direction toward or away from a contacted member. The biasing member has one end connected to a biased portion of the rotatable support, which is located on a side opposite the first rotation shaft with respect to a virtual line passing through a contact portion between the contact member and the contacted member, and applies a biasing force to the rotatable support. The switching rotation member is connected to another end of the biasing member opposite the one end of the biasing member, rotates around a second rotation shaft, and has a rotation operating end which is on a side opposite the second rotation shaft with respect to the virtual line.

    Abstract: A fixing apparatus includes a belt, a steering roller, a slide member, and a pressing rotation member that forms a nip portion by pressing the belt and is disposed to face the slide member. The belt applies heat to a recording material and has an inner circumferential surface that receives a lubricant applied onto the inner circumferential surface. The pressing rotation member fixes a toner image onto the recording material by applying heat and pressure to an unfixed toner image in the nip portion, in cooperation with the belt. An end portion of the belt on one end side in a belt width direction takes a position outside an end portion of the slide member on the one end side and a position inside the end portion of the slide member on the one end side while the steering roller is in operation.
