Abstract:
A real-time annotation system and methodology for annotating measurement waveforms in a signal measurement system that includes a graphical user interface for displaying waveforms and measurement results on a signal measurement system display. Generally, he annotation system enables an operator to generate a graphical annotation label containing any desired data, and to graphically position the annotation label at any desired location on the measurement display, enabling the operator to positionally associate the graphical annotation label with a desired waveform or waveform feature displayed on the graphical user interface. The annotation system is constructed and arranged to enable an operator to graphically generate an annotation label containing operator-generated information and to graphically alter the position of the annotation label such that the annotation label is positionally associated with a desired feature of a waveform displayed on the graphical user interface. The annotation label may be implemented as dialog box, window or other display region in the graphical environment provided by the graphical user interface.
Abstract:
An apparatus for displaying electrical measurement of distributor of motor vehicle comprises a distributor and a circuit module including at least one display unit and a circuit board in distributor under input and output terminals and electrically connected thereto by contacting. Display unit is electrically connected to circuit board and located on a side of distributor for ease of reading. Thus current representing an electrical measurement of distributor may be shown on display unit.
Abstract:
A method of measuring, indicating, and automatically evaluating a measured value comprises the steps of measuring a signal, exhibiting a digital indication of the measured value of the signal on a multicolor light emitting diode display device that is substantially surrounded by a variable color background area, comparing the measured value with a limit to determine their relation, and controlling color of the background area accordingly, to simultaneously indicate the measured value of the signal, by the digital indication, and its significance, by color of the background area.
Abstract:
A variable color digital measuring instrument sequentially exhibits measured values in a color in accordance with the relation of the present measured value to a past measured value. A memory, controlled by a timer, is provided for storing data representing the past measured value. A comparator compares the present measured value with the data stored in the memory and develops a comparison signal accordingly, which is then used to control the color of the presently exhibited measured value.
Abstract:
A self-powered current monitor for monitoring current in electric power systems. Various data relating to input currents may be displayed, such as current magnitude, current demand, and harmonics levels. Operating power is derived from one or more of the input currents. The power supply configuration may include a burden-reducing means to reduce the burden on input current sources during sampling of the input currents. The self-powered current monitor (1) includes a power supply section (3), input resistors (R1 and R3), an analog-to-digital converter circuit (5), a microprocessor circuit (6), a memory circuit (9), and a display circuit (7). Optional features include a burden-reducing circuit (2), input circuit protective elements (D1, D2, D3, D4, R2, and R4), an amplifier circuit (4), a user interface circuit (10), and an interface circuit (8) for communication to other equipment.
Abstract:
A display device includes a display area, for exhibiting a display unit, substantially surrounded by a variable color background area, which includes a color control input for uniformly controlling its color. The variable color background area includes a plurality of multi-color light emitting diodes arranged in a pattern, which are coupled to the color control input for being illuminated in a selective uniform color in accordance with a color control signal.
Abstract:
A variable color display system exhibits a display unit in a color in accordance with the value of a limit. The color signals are developed in accordance with the value of the limit and applied to a color control input of the display system to control its color substantially continuously.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for characterizing an alternating current power line which uses a library of waveforms and associated spectra of digitally sampled alternating current power system voltage or current waveforms. The library of waveforms is built as new waveforms are measured from the alternating current power line. A measured waveform that is not found in the library will be converted to frequency-domain representation, using a Discrete Fourier Transform, that will then be stored in the library. When the library becomes full, the frequency domain representation of the new waveform will be stored in place of the least used waveform currently stored in the library.
Abstract:
Apparatus for manipulating numerical values stored in a memory comprises a modify device for receiving numerical values from the memory and returning numerical values to the memory. The modify device has at least a first state in which it modifies a numerical value received from the memory in a predetermined fashion before returning the numerical value to the memory and a second state in which it does not modify a numerical value received from the memory in the predetermined fashion before returning the numerical value to the memory. The apparatus also comprises a characterizing device for examining at least some of the numerical values and calculating at least one number that defines a property of the examined numerical values. The characterizing device is connected to the modify device for placing the modify device in the first state or the second state depending on the value of the calculated number.
Abstract:
An electronic register for an electric watthour metering system includes a display buffer for receiving, at substantially the same time, all data items to be displayed. The data items in the display buffer are scrolled to a display in sets appropriate for the capacity of the display. Each set is maintained on the display for as long as required for human reading. The displayed items, having been taken into the display buffer at the same instant, are consistent with each other regardless of the length of time required to complete the display sequence.
