Abstract: A modular light source system forms a plurality of distinct light sources with a common tubular metal housing, an LED based lighting element for each light source, and a pair of end caps on opposed ends of the metal housing for each light source. Each distinct lighting source is comprised of one of the LED based lighting elements and a given pair of the end caps, whereby distinct light sources can be formed through replacement of the LED based lighting elements and the end caps.

Abstract: A double lamp utility light includes a vertically split light housing formed in two halves with an elongated upper light portion extending from a hollow lower handle portion. An electrical outlet is provided in a bottom surface of the handle. A pair of switches on the handle control respective ones of a pair of twin bulb fluorescent lamp assemblies. A lens assembly is releasably attached to the housing and can be removed and installed without tools for changing the lamp assemblies.

Abstract: A compact lamp unit is described which functions both as a fluorescent lamp and as a nightlight. The lamp unit includes a housing, a fluorescent tube, a low power light source, a conductive base and first and second circuits. The housing is used to contain a number of components and to support the fluorescent tube and low power light source. The conductive base is attached to a neck portion of the housing and has contact terminals adapted for a three-way lamp socket. The first circuit is electrically connected between the fluorescent tube and two of the contact terminals to drive the fluorescent tube. The second circuit is electrically connected between the low power light source and two of the contact terminals to drive the low power light source.

Abstract: A lighting lamp comprises two bulbs connected in an electrical circuit with a common control device, the assembly being supported by a support plate made of insulating material. The control device is equipped with a switching bar having two actuating cams cooperating alternatively with two contact strips constituting the first and second switches. Abstract: In one aspect, the invention provides a set of connected lights. The lights comprise an illumination panel having a single colored or a multi-colored LED. The lights are connected to each other directly through any known means, such as RFID, Zigbee, WLAN, WWAN, Bluetooth, Infrared, and the like, and combinations thereof. Each light is operated using a touch sensor, a motion sensor, a gesture sensor, etc. When a state of any one of the lights changes, the states of all the other connected lights are automatically synchronized. The states include at least one of on and off, or alternatively off and on in any one of multiple options of color, etc. Each color is associated with a specific message, and the connected lights may be used to transmit and receive messages accordingly. Thus, the invention also provides a method of transmitting and receiving messages using the connected lights.
