Abstract:
Embodiments of a document diverter and systems including a document diverter are generally described herein. A document diverter may include a drum, a plurality of document feeders situated around the drum with a document channel between the document feeders and the drum, and a plurality of guiding mechanisms, one guiding mechanism for each of the plurality of document feeders, each of the plurality of guiding mechanisms including a plurality of positions including an first position and a second position.
Abstract:
Provided are a sheet feeding apparatus and an image forming apparatus, which can set a sheet feeding interval to be short. The controller determines whether a sheet surface height of an uppermost sheet becomes a predetermined sheet surface height, based on a detection signal from a lower limit detection sensor, when a pickup roller abuts the uppermost sheet. When determining that the sheet surface height of the uppermost sheet becomes the predetermined sheet surface height, the controller feeds a predetermined number of sheets without performing detection by the lower limit detection sensor, and then controls a motor such that the uppermost sheet is located with an appropriate range by lifting a tray when feeding a next sheet.
Abstract:
A sheet feeding unit includes a supporting member configured to rotatably support a rotary feeding member, a first retaining member configured to push the supporting member upward from the underside to retain the rotary feeding member at a waiting position, and a second retaining member protruding on the underside of the supporting member when the first retaining member retains the supporting member. The retention of the supporting member by the first retaining member is released in association with the mounting of a sheet storage portion in the mounting position, and then the retention of the supporting member by the second retaining member is released.
Abstract:
A paper sheet conveying apparatus includes: a first storage unit; a second storage unit; a first conveyance path to the first storage unit; a second conveyance path to the second storage unit; a conveyance unit configured to convey a paper sheet; a switching unit configured to switch a conveyance path of a paper sheet; a cutting unit configured to cut a paper sheet at a cutting position; a detecting unit configured to detect a jam; and a control unit, when a jam is detected on the first conveyance path, configured to cut a part of the paper sheet, the part is positioned on a side upstream from the cutting position, to a predetermined length, switch a conveyance path of the paper sheet from the first conveyance path to the second conveyance path, and store the cut paper sheet in the second storage unit through the second conveyance path.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for folding a stack of substrate sheets are provided. The system may include a roller assembly and a positioning mechanism. The roller assembly is configured for folding the stack of substrate sheets and the positioning mechanism is configured to position the substrate or stack for entry into the roller assembly. The positioning mechanism includes an upper curved form and a lower curved form to guide the stack of substrate sheets into a curved position for folding. The positioning mechanism further includes a folding blade positioned to extend through the gap between the upper and lower curved forms. The roller assembly can move the folded stack of substrate sheets in at least two directions.
Abstract:
A technique by which when printing is initiated, printed sheets remaining in a large-volume stacker and sheets printed in a subsequent job are not mixed in the large-volume stacker is provided. A printing system in which a printing apparatus and a post-processing apparatus for receiving a sheet printed by the printing apparatus and performing post-processing are connected, upon activation of the printing system, when detecting that a sheet is stacked in the post-processing apparatus, instructs the processing apparatus to discharge the remaining sheet.
Abstract:
A system is provided for shifting, according to an amount of stacked sheets that has been stacked in a sheet stacking device, a state of a power to be supplied to the sheet stacking device from a first power state to a second power state where power consumption is less than that in the second power state.
Abstract:
A sheet feeding device includes a sheet storage unit, a stacking unit, a raising unit, a sheet detection unit, an attachment detection unit, and a control unit. The sheet storage unit may be attached to and drawn out of an apparatus main body. The stacking unit is raised by the raising unit and is lowered when the sheet storage unit is drawn out. The attachment detection unit detects attachment of the sheet storage unit to the apparatus main body. The control unit determines whether an amount of sheets stacked on the stacking unit exceeds a predetermined amount based on detection results. If the sheet detection unit continues to detect sheets when the sheet storage unit goes from attached, to not attached, to attached to the apparatus main body, the control unit determines that the amount of sheets stacked on the stacking unit does not exceed the predetermined amount.
Abstract:
A sheet feeding device includes a feeding device and a detector. The feeding device is configured to feed a sheet to a destination. The detector is configured to detect the sheet at the destination. If the detector does not detect the sheet within a predetermined time after the start of preparation for a feeding operation by the feeding device, it is determined that the sheet is misfed. Further, the start of the feeding operation of a sheet is changed in accordance with the result of detection by the detector of the presence or absence of a sheet standing by at the destination.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus includes a conveyance unit configured to convey a recording material, a driving unit configured to drive the conveyance unit based on a manipulated variable corresponding to a deviation between a conveyance speed of the recording material and a target conveyance speed, and a control unit configured to change a control method for controlling the manipulated variable required to drive the driving unit according to a state in which the recording material is conveyed by the conveyance unit.
