Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. In some wireless communications systems, a user equipment (UE) may support two or more uplink switching periods for transmit chain switching. The UE may transmit a UE capability message indicating the UE capability to support a first uplink switching period and a second uplink switching period for transmit chain switching. The first uplink switching period and the second uplink switching period may each correspond to different switching periods associated with configuration switches between different transmit chain configurations of the UE. The UE and a base station may select an uplink switching period from among the first uplink switching period and the second uplink switching period. The UE may transmit an uplink data message to the base station after a preparation time that is based on the uplink switching period.

Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a network node may transmit, and a user equipment (UE) may receive, signaling that indicates at least a first random access channel (RACH) occasion (RO) partition and a second RO partition. The first RO partition may be associated with different uplink transmission capabilities than the second RO partition. The UE may select an RO in the first RO partition or the second RO partition based at least in part on a metric that relates to an uplink transmission capability of the UE. The UE may transmit, and the network node may receive, a preamble in the selected RO to initiate a RACH procedure. Numerous other aspects are described.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may be configured to perform dual uplink transmissions on two different operating bands of a carrier aggregation configuration. The UE may communicate on a primary cell associated with a primary component carrier and a secondary cell associated with a secondary component carrier. The UE may generate uplink control information (UCI) for the secondary cell, which is mapped to an uplink shared transmission of the primary cell. In some cases, however, the UE may identify that uplink transmission switching is to occur prior to the transmission of the UCI, such that UE may not map the UCI to the uplink shared transmission of the primary cell. Accordingly, the UE may modify a cell mapping for the transmission of the UCI based on the identified uplink transmission switching.

Abstract: Wireless communications systems and methods related to receiving uplink carrier aggregation transmit chain switch scheduling. A UE may be configured for both inter-band and intra-band CA. When the UE receives uplink scheduling information for UL CA, the UE may analyze multiple component carriers in a frequency band, instead of just one component carrier per frequency band. The UE may derive antenna port configurations from the scheduling information, and map the antenna port configurations to an RF chain case. The RF chain case identifies an RF chain allocation configuration. Once mapped, the UE may determine whether an uplink RF chain switch should occur to accommodate the new RF chain allocation configuration. If different from the current RF chain allocation configuration, the switch is made. Further, the UE may add uplink transmission preparation time in response to the analysis and change if necessary.

A user equipment (UE) may identify a beam used for communicating with a network entity, the beam associated with multiple bandwidth parts (BWPs) including a reference BWP with a first frequency. The UE may receive a BWP configuration from the network entity, the BWP configuration based on changing a frequency for at least one BWP of the multiple BWPs form the first frequency to a second frequency. Additionally or alternatively, the UE may identify a timing threshold associated with a BWP switching operation for multiple BWPs associated with the beam. The UE may switch from the first BWP to a second BWP during the timing threshold. The UE may communicate with the network entity according to the BWP configuration or the second BWP.
