    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE), such as an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) (e.g., a source UAV), may initiate a unicast link establishment procedure with another UAV (e.g., a target UAV), which may enable the UAVs to communicate according to an air-to-everything (A2X) service type. The source UAV may transmit a direct communication request (DCR) message to the target UAV that includes an application-layer identifier (ID) that is unique to the target UAV. The source UAV may derive the application-layer ID for the target UAV from a UE-specific ID that is unique to the target UAV. Alternatively, the source UAV may transmit a DCR message that excludes target UAV information. Instead, the DCR message may indicate one or more proximity parameters associated with the source UAV. The UAVs may communicate unicast messages via the unicast link according to A2X configurations and communication parameters.

In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may transmit a consistent listen-before-talk (LBT) failure indication that includes a bitmap, wherein a bit in the bitmap corresponds to a resource block (RB) set, and the bit indicates whether the RB set is associated with consistent LBT failure. The UE may perform a sidelink communication based at least in part on scheduling, wherein the scheduling is based at least in part on the consistent LBT failure indication.     Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A non-sidelink synchronization signal (SLSS)-transmitting user equipment (UE) may initiate a channel occupancy time (COT) including multiple contiguous slots and a gap slot. The non-SLSS UE may detect an SLSS UE (capable of transmitting sidelink synchronization signal blocks (S-SSBs)) and assume that the gap slot will be filled with an S-SSB. The non-SLSS may transmit a sidelink message during the COT after the gap slot, based on the assumption. Alternatively, based on the SLSS UE indicating that it is capable of transmitting the S-SSB, the non-SLSS UE may schedule transmission of the S-SSB such that the gap slot is filled. If the SLSS UE is incapable of transmitting the S-SSB, the non-SLSS UE may determine a method for transmitting the sidelink message during the already-initiated COT or during another COT.

Some aspects involve enhancing an inter-user-equipment coordination (IUC) framework to enable user equipment (UE) to perform beam sweeping over the sidelink. Some aspects more specifically relate to fine-tuning beams, such as transmit beams or receive beams, using one or more IUC requests. In some aspects, multiple transmit beams or multiple receive beams may carry respective IUC requests and associated beam signals. In some aspects, one transmit beam or one receive beam may carry an IUC request and associated beam signal, multiple remaining transmit beams or receive beams may carry associated beam signals, and the transmit UE or the receive UE may identify a fine-tuned transmit beam or a fine-tuned receive beam responsive to, based on, or otherwise associated with the IUC request and associated beam signals.
