Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer-readable media, for signaling between an access point (AP) multi-link device (MLD) and a non-AP MLD that support multi-link communication in a wireless local area network (WLAN). In some implementations, a multi-link association may include a first link (referred to as an anchor link) and one or more other links (referred to as auxiliary links). The signaling may include control information to activate or deactivate auxiliary links dynamically based on communication load, throughput requirements, or quality of service (QoS). The signaling also may include requests, acknowledgments, or negotiation regarding multi-link connections. Furthermore, signaling and timing information may be used to coordinate when auxiliary links are used for communication or when to promote an auxiliary link to an anchor link.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Generally, the described techniques provide for improved handling of adjacent channel interference in multi-link aggregation scenarios. In accordance with the described techniques, a device may establish a set of wireless links for communication with a second device, the set of wireless links supporting parallel transmission during at least a first duration of a multi-link session, the set of wireless links including at least a first wireless link and a second wireless link. The device may modify a transmission parameter for the first wireless link or a clear channel assessment (CCA) parameter for the second wireless link, or a combination thereof. The device may then perform the CCA procedure on the second wireless link and transmit at least a first portion of the message on the first wireless link based on the modified transmission parameter or modified CCA parameter.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Techniques may include transmitting, from an access point (AP) to a first set of stations (STAs) a first message soliciting an uplink transmission by the first set of STAs over a wireless channel, transmitting to a second set STAs a second message including an instruction to monitor the wireless channel for interference during the uplink transmission by the first set of STAs; transmitting to the second set of STAs a third message triggering an interference report; and receiving an interference report based on the second and third messages. Techniques include identifying a plurality of sectors of a geographic coverage area corresponding to the AP; transmitting a set of directional training signals; receiving a signal to noise ratio (SNR) report from multiple STAs; comparing the received SNR reports on a per sector basis; and adjusting communication based on the comparing.

Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, devices, apparatus and methods, including computer programs encoded on storage media, for managing uplink access in a wireless local area network. A station (STA) may inform an access point (AP) of uplink quality of service (QoS) parameters for a traffic flow from the STA. The AP may control uplink resources to satisfy the QoS parameters. For example, the AP may select from among different access modes (including a single user (SU) access mode, an uplink multi-user (UL-MU) scheduled access mode, a multi-user enhanced distributed controlled access (MU EDCA) access mode, or a low latency (LL) access mode). The AP may cause the STA to use a SU access mode or the LL access mode if the UL-MU scheduled access mode and the MU EDCA access mode are not sufficient to satisfy the uplink QoS parameters for the traffic flow.

Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for implementing multi-link aggregation and conditional inheritance in a first basic service set (BSS). In one aspect, an apparatus may establish a first communication link with a first station (STA) of the first BSS using a first frequency band. The apparatus may determine a first link profile for a second communication link by customizing one or more management elements of management information associated with the first communication link. The apparatus may configure a first non-inheritance element of the first link profile associated with the second communication link to indicate usage of at least one management element of the management information by the second communication link is disabled. The apparatus may generate a management frame that comprises at least the first link profile, and may output the management frame for transmission.

TRAFFIC IDENTIFIER BASED BUFFER STATUS REPORTING

Abstract: A wireless station may buffer data associated with one or more traffic identifiers (TIDs), and generate a media access control (MAC) protocol data unit (MPDU) including TID-specific buffer status report (BSR) information. A BSR control field may include an Access Category Identifier (ACI) bitmap and a delta TID parameter indicating a mapping of TID-specific buffer status information to a first and second queue size indicated by the BSR. In some cases, the MPDU may also include a quality of service (QoS) control field, and queue sizes indicated by the BSR control field and QoS control field may be accumulated for reporting buffer status for a TID. Additionally or alternatively, a transmitting wireless station may generate an aggregated MPDU (A-MPDU) including multiple MPDUs with different A-control fields based on a receiving a capabilities information field indicating a number of different aggregated control (A-Control) fields the receiving wireless station supports.

MECHANISMS TO SUPPORT SECONDARY CHANNEL OPERATION

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. The described techniques relate to improved methods, systems, devices, or apparatuses that support a 20 MHz station (STA) parked on a secondary channel. Without the described techniques, mechanisms to support secondary channel operation may be unable to receive management frames or broadcast traffic from an access point (AP), which may cause the STA to lose synchronization with the AP, miss a channel change or other critical announcement from the AP, etc. Considerations for providing such information to STAs parked on a secondary channel are discussed. In some examples, an AP may restrict resource unit allocation to the secondary channel on which the STA is parked. In some cases, a trigger-based random access mechanism may utilize aspects of the present disclosure to limit access to certain resource units to STAs on a given secondary channel.
