    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may identify a transmission configuration indicator (TCI) state to use for communications with a network entity after switching between TCI modes (e.g., a joint TCI state mode and a separate TCI states mode for uplink transmission and downlink reception). A UE may autonomously switch between the TCI modes based on a trigger event, and may send an indication to a network entity of the trigger event prior to communicating. A UE may identify a TCI configuration with unconfigured power control parameters. The UE may determine a common power control configuration for communicating with a network entity based on applying a rule to the TCI configuration to determine the power control parameters.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A device may precode a phase tracking reference signal (PTRS) sequence by applying a single discrete Fourier transform (DFT) to the PTRS sequence. The device may map the DFT precoded PTRS sequence to a subset of resources of a set of resources, and may transmit a signal carrying the DFT precoded PTRS sequence. Additionally or alternatively, the device may receive a signal that includes a DFT precoded PTRS sequence, demap the DFT precoded PTRS sequence to a subset of resources of a set of resources, decode the DFT precoded PTRS by applying a single inverse DFT (IDFT) to the DFT precoded PTRS sequence, estimate a phase error based on the decoding, and apply a phase error correction to a set of additional symbols associated with the signal based on the estimated phase error.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Some wireless communications networks may implement aspects of a single frequency network (SFN), which may support multicast and broadcast transmissions. In some cases, a base station may use directional beamforming techniques to transmit a message to a user equipment (UE) using a first frequency configuration of the SFN. The base station may adjust the first frequency configuration to a second frequency configuration, and may transmit a retransmission of the message to the UE using the second frequency configuration.

Then, the UE sends the uplink beam report to a base station in response to determining the occurrence of the event.     Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. Generally, the described techniques provide for a user equipment (UE) to receive a message including transmission configuration indicator (TCI) states information associated with beam information for uplink or downlink resources. The UE may identify multiple channels or reference signals, or both, to which a TCI state is to be applied based on associated indications included with the TCI state information. In some examples, the TCI state information may also include indications of source reference signals for quasi co-location (QCL) assumptions for the indicated channels or reference signals. Based on applying the TCI state, the UE may determine beam information for uplink or downlink resources and may communicate with the base station accordingly.

The control message may include a format for jointly indicating beam updates and reference signal configurations.
