    Abstract: Systems and methods for overriding ad hoc talkgroup auto-dropping. One example method includes determining whether a contextual condition for a portable communications device meets a talkgroup formation criterion associated with an ad hoc talkgroup, and, in response to determining that the contextual condition meets the talkgroup formation criterion, sending a talkgroup identifier identifying the ad hoc talkgroup to the device. The method includes receiving a contextual condition update for the device and determining whether the update meets the talkgroup formation criterion. The method includes, in response to determining that the update does not meet the talkgroup formation criterion, sending an audio mute command based on the talkgroup identifier and a notification requesting an override action to the device. The method includes, when an override action indication is received from the device during a standby period, sending an audio unmute command based on the talkgroup identifier to the device.

    Abstract: Methods and systems are provided in this disclosure for operating an electronic device that includes a user interface, a microphone, and an electronic processor. The microphone captures an audio stream and the electronic processor analyzes the audio stream to identify spoken words captured by the microphone. The electronic processor detects a violation of a user assistance restriction for the current functional operation of the electronic device based at least in part on a correlation between one or more of the identified spoken words captured by the microphone and a current functional operation of the electronic device involving a manual text entry through the user interface of the electronic device. The electronic processor adjusts one or more operations of the electronic device in response to detecting the violation of the user assistance restriction.

The controller is configured to: generate, at the display device, a first message thread of a plurality of message threads, each message thread comprising groups of associated messages transmitted and received by the communication interface; identify a message portion in the first message thread as being associated with one or more other message threads of the plurality of message threads, based on one or more of: respective content and respective metadata of the one or more other message threads; and, generate, at the display device, a link to the one or more other message threads.

    Abstract: Systems and methods for dynamically assigning priority for shared spectrum communication systems. One method includes receiving, via a communication interface of a base station, a call request from a first communication device identifying a second communication device and a first spectrum priority level for the first communication device. The method includes establishing a call, having the first priority level, between the first and second communication devices. The method includes determining a second spectrum priority level for the second communication device, and, when the second priority level is lower than the first priority level, transmitting, to a spectrum manager, a priority assignment request to assign the first priority level to the second communication device after the call is terminated. The method includes, when a priority expiration threshold has been met, transmitting a second priority assignment request to the spectrum manager to assign the second priority level to the second communication device.

    Abstract: Methods and systems are provided in this disclosure for operating an electronic device. The electronic device includes a user interface, a camera, and an electronic processor. The electronic processor determines whether a user assistance restriction is established for a current functional operation of the electronic device. The camera captures at least one image, the electronic processor analyzes the at least one image to detect one or more eyes in the field of view of the camera, and the electronic processor detects a violation of the user assistance restriction for the current functional operation based at least in part on the analysis of the at least one image.     Abstract: A process of detecting signal interference among geographically co-located radios affiliated with different talkgroups, An electronic computing device receives a log of push-to-talk (PTT) operations performed at a first radio and a log of audio quality values measured corresponding to audio communications received at a second radio. The first radio is affiliated with a first talkgroup and operates on a first channel frequency assigned to the first talkgroup. The second radio is affiliated with a second talkgroup and further operates on a second channel frequency assigned to the second talkgroup. The device detects that signal interference at the second radio is potentially caused by the first radio when there is a time correlation between a PTT operation performed at the first radio and a change in audio quality at the second radio and when the second radio was geographically co-located with the first radio during the time correlation.

An example method includes receiving human-generated narrative statements as audio and converting the narrative statements into corresponding digital texts. The method further includes determining incriminating scores for each of the narrative statements by identifying, in the digital texts, incident information classified as not being publicly known. The method further includes determining a cumulative score for an individual based on the incriminating scores tagged to the individual, making a determination of whether the individual is a person of interest based on a comparison of the cumulative score with a fixed threshold, and performing at least one automated responsive action based on the determination.

    Abstract: A system, method, and apparatus for implementing workflows across multiple differing systems and devices are provided herein. During operation a workflow is automatically generated upon the detection of new device capabilities. In particular, a workflow server will detect the presence of new device capabilities in a particular area.
