Abstract:
An electrical connector includes an insulative housing defining a forwardly extending mating tongue, a plurality of contacts with contacting sections exposed upon the mating tongue and a metallic shield enclosing the insulative housing to define a mating cavity. A metallic shielding plate is embedded within the mating tongue and forms a pair of locking notches in two opposite lateral sides. The mating tongue further includes in two opposite lateral sides a pair of recesses aligned with and intimately located inside of the pair of locking notches, respectively, in the transverse direction. The housing and the corresponding contacts commonly form the terminal module which is composed of an upper terminal module, a lower terminal module commonly sandwiching a shielding plate module therebetween in the vertical direction. The metallic shield optionally defines a clip structure by folding an extension on a rear lower edge thereof.
Abstract:
A plug connector mateable with the receptacle connector, includes an insulative housing enclosed in a metallic shell, defining a receiving cavity to receive the mating tongue, and equipped with a plurality of contacts on opposite sides in the vertical direction. A latch forms a pair of locking heads extending into two opposite lateral sides of the receiving cavity to lock with a shielding plate embedded within a mating tongue of the complementary receptacle connector during mating.
Abstract:
A plug for provision of power includes a housing forming a receiving cavity with two opposite sites in a vertical direction which is compatible with a standard plug connector with twelve contacts on each site and a first and second rows of contacts on the sides while in diagonally symmetrical manner. Each contact includes a contacting section, and a connecting section for directly connecting to a corresponding wire. Each row of contacts is categorized with a pair of power contacts, a pair of grounding contacts and a specific contact without any high speed differential pair. Two pair of power contacts of both two rows are electrically connected together either via direct mechanical connection via vertical extensions or via indirect electrical connection via the latch which has a pair of side arms extending into the receiving cavity at two opposite transverse ends.
Abstract:
A plug connector includes an insulative housing with mating slot, contacts disposed in the housing by two sides of the mating slot, and a pair of side arms located by two opposite ends of the mating slot in a horizontal transverse direction. a receptacle connector includes an insulative housing defining a horizontal mating tongue; contacts disposed in the housing with contacting sections exposed upon two opposite surfaces of the mating tongue; and a monolithic horizontal metallic shielding plate disposed and extending substantially fully the mating tongue. The shielding plate defines side protruding edge sections exposed outside of corresponding side edges of the mating tongue and a notch structure on each side protruding edge section, the pair of side arms each defines a hook structure to engagement with the notch structure.
Abstract:
A receptacle connector mounted to the printed circuit board, includes an insulative housing defining a mating tongue and a metallic shell enclosing the housing to form a mating cavity in which said mating tongue forwardly extends. A complementary plug connector includes a shell with a bull-nose tip. A metallic piece is mounted around a root of the mating tongue and equipped with a plurality of spring tangs to contact the relatively rigid bull-nose tip of the shell of the complementary connector for EMI/RFI protection.
Abstract:
An electrical connector includes a terminal seat loaded with a plurality of terminals and a shielding plate. The terminal seat includes a base and a mating tongue extending from the base, the mating tongue defines two opposite mating surfaces, a confronting surface and two opposite sides connecting with the mating surfaces and the confronting surface. The terminals include contacting sections exposing upon the mating surfaces and leg sections out of the base. The shielding plate includes a main sheet disposed between the mating surfaces and two thickening sections, the two thickening sections enclose the two opposite sides of the mating tongue and each provides a side latch at an outer side face thereof. Each thickness defines two opposite first surfaces connecting with the outer side face thereof, the first surfaces complete the mating surfaces of the mating tongue.
Abstract:
An electrical connector includes an outer shell formed by metal-injection mold and a terminal module including a base and a mating tongue extending forwardly from the base and loaded with a plurality of terminals, and a waterproof glue. The shell includes a seat and a sidewall extending forwardly from the seat, the seat defines a front opening and a receiving cavity. The base is received in the receiving cavity and the mating tongue extends across the front opening and located in the mating cavity. The seat defines a pouring hole from an outer face thereof and communicating with the receiving cavity, the glue is filled with gap between the terminal module and the outer shell via the pouring hole.
Abstract:
A receptacle connector assembly includes an outer housing and a terminal module. The terminals module includes an insulator having a base and a mating tongue extending from the base and equipped with a plurality of contacts and a shielding plate. The contacts include front contacting sections exposed upon the mating tongue and tail sections extending out of the base. The shielding plate is embedded within the mating tongue and includes a pair of rigid notches in two opposite lateral sides for locking to a pair of corresponding latches of a complementary plug connector. The outer housing is of an insulative molding part or a metallic die cast, the terminal module is assembled in the outer housing, and thus a mating cavity is directly defined between the mating tongue and the outer housing.
