Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems, methods, and non-transitory computer-readable storage media for providing visual indication that the image capture device is actively recording frames for a time lapse output sequence by providing indicia that communicates to a user that the image capture device is actively recording frames for the time lapse output sequence. Allowing user to perform time lapse sequence captures with a simple set up and with auto-adjustments when events occur that might otherwise detract from output quality.

Abstract: An electronic device displays a representative image. The representative image is one image in a sequence of images that includes images acquired after the representative image. While displaying the representative image, the device detects a contact with a first intensity. In response to detecting the contact, the device advances through the images acquired after the representative image at a rate based on the first intensity. When the device detects a decrease in intensity of the contact to a second intensity that is less than the first intensity, the device either continues to advance through the one or more images at a slower rate or reverses direction, depending at least in part on the second intensity relative to a threshold intensity.

Abstract: In some implementations, document templates can be presented on a mobile device for selection by a user when the user is creating a document. In some implementations, document templates can be filtered based on the orientation of the mobile device. In some implementations, images (e.g., photographs, pictures, drawings, etc.) that match the current orientation of the mobile device are displayed on the mobile device for selection and addition to a document template. In some implementations, animations can be presented while the user is browsing document templates. In some implementations, document templates can be presented on a user interface of the mobile device. As the user scrolls through the document templates, the document templates can appear to move, shake, flutter, rock and/or expand in response to the scrolling movement. In some implementations, a preview of a document template can be displayed in response to a touch gesture.

Abstract: In some implementations, an image can be presented in an image editing interface and the image can be edited based on movement of the mobile device. In some implementations, the mobile device can be configured to provide a plurality of types edits (e.g., filters, effects, etc.) that can be applied to the image, a selection of one or more edit types can be received, movement sensor data can obtained describing movement of the mobile device, and the selected edits can be applied to the image based on the sensor data.

Abstract: An electronic device having a camera, while displaying a live preview for the camera, detects activation of a shutter button at a first time. In response, the electronic device acquires, by the camera, a representative image that represents a first sequence of images, and a plurality of images after acquiring the representative image, and also displays an indication in the live preview that the camera is capturing images for the first sequence of images. The electronic device groups images acquired by the camera in temporal proximity to the activation of the shutter button at the first time into the first sequence of images, such that the first sequence of images includes a plurality of images acquired by the camera prior to detecting activation of the shutter button at the first time, the representative image, and the plurality of images acquired by the camera after acquiring the representative image.

Abstract: This disclosure relates to various implementations that dynamically adjust one or more shallow depth of field (SDOF) parameters based on a designated, artificial aperture value. The implementations obtain a designated, artificial aperture value that modifies an initial aperture value for an image frame. The designated, artificial aperture value generates a determined amount of synthetically-produced blur within the image frame. The implementations determine an aperture adjustment factor based on the designated, artificial aperture value in relation to a default so-called “tuning aperture value” (for which the camera's operations may have been optimized). The implementations may then modify, based on the aperture adjustment factor, one or more SDOF parameters for an SDOF operation, which may, e.g., be configured to render a determined amount of synthetic bokeh within the image frame. In response the modified SDOF parameters, the implementations may render an updated image frame that corresponds to the designated, artificial aperture value.
