Abstract:
A process for reducing curl and/or frizziness of hair comprising: (a) providing a composition for reducing curl and/or frizziness of hair, said composition comprising, in a cosmetically acceptable carrier: (i) at least one non-hydroxide base; (ii) at least one protein denaturant different from (a)(i); (iii) at least one alkoxysilane comprising at least one solubilizing functional group; and (iv) optionally, at least one fatty substance; (b) contacting the hair with the composition in (a) to form treated hair; (c) optionally, rinsing the composition in (a) from the treated hair; (d) optionally, contacting the treated hair with a conditioning agent; (e) smoothing the treated hair using a combination of heat and means for physically smoothing hair to form smoothed hair; (f) optionally, shampooing the smoothed hair; and (g) rinsing the smoothed hair.
Abstract:
A plug connector comprises a plug housing (11) having a front base portion (112) extending along a mating direction and a rear linking portion (114), a contact (12) received in the base portion, a cover (13) assembled to the linking portion, and a cable (14) electrically connected with the contact. The base portion defines a front face (1120), a pair of protrusions (1121) on an upper and a lower sides thereof, and a pair of receiving slots (1123), each protrusion defining a receiving channel (1122) extending along a transverse direction, each receiving slot extending from the front surface along the mating direction to a corresponding receiving channel.
Abstract:
An adaptive decision feedback equalizer includes a filter module, a compensation module, and a slicer module. The filter module generates a filtered signal by adaptively filtering an input serial data signal to reduce inter-symbol interference in the serial data signal. The compensation module generates a compensated signal by equalizing amplitudes of frequency components of the filtered signal in a compensation frequency range to reduce inter-symbol interference in the filtered signal. The slicer module determines logic states of serial data in the compensated signal and generates an output serial data signal including serial data having the determined logic states.
Abstract:
A high-resolution tunable optical filter uses a dispersive element in a double pass configuration. The double pass configuration is provided by a reflective quarter-wave plate that conveniently reduces polarization dispersion loss (PDL) of the filter. The filter also includes a fibre tube for supporting an input optical fibre and an output optical fibre, and a lens having an optical axis, which is disposed such that a focal point thereof is substantially at one of the input and output optical fibres. To provide increase resolution the filter is tuned by rotating the reflective quarter-wave plate. To provide high power capabilities the fibre jackets of the input and output fibres are optionally stripped back. To provide a symmetrical spectral response the fibre tube is optionally mounted at an angle to the optical axis of the lens.
