摘要： Liquefied natural gas (LNG) boil off gas (BOG) and/or end flash gas (EFG) can be used to recondense refrigerant vent gas. For example, a method can include: passing LNG BOG through a first condensing heat exchanger and/or passing an EFG from liquefaction system through a second condensing heat exchanger; and condensing the refrigerant vent gas in the first and/or second condensing heat exchangers, wherein (when using the first condensing heat exchanger) the LNG BOG is the coolant in the first condensing heat exchanger and (when using the second condensing heat exchanger) the EFG is the coolant in the second condensing heat exchanger, and wherein (when using both condensing heat exchangers) the first and second condensing heat exchangers are in parallel and not in series.

The processor 120 may send the unified pointer message 300 to an application. The processor 120 may process a device specific data set 244 unhandled by the application.

摘要： A drive system for a refrigeration compressor such as is used in a natural gas liquefaction plant, allowing the desired compressor speed and maximum turbine efficiency to be maintained throughout varying ambient temperature conditions. A gas turbine is used with an electric starter motor with drive-through capability located on a common drive shaft between the turbine and the compressor. A variable frequency drive (VFD) is connected between the electrical power grid and the electric motor for smooth startups, but also to allow excess turbine mechanical power to be converted to electrical power by the motor operating as a generator, and delivered to the grid at the grid frequency. Pulse width modulation technology may be used to reduce harmonic distortion in the VFD's output. The starter motor also functions as a helper motor when the turbine output is insufficient to drive the compressor at the rotational speed needed to meet throughput requirements.

摘要： A light coupler and modulator for an optical waveguide is formed using a slab of optically transmissive material having a higher index of refraction than the waveguide. The slab has tapered ends for receiving and transmitting light from and to the waveguide. An electrode is disposed over the slab for the application of modulating signals to the slab. When used as a coupler, the ends of two waveguides to be coupled also have tapered ends that are overlapped by the slab with the tapered ends of the slab extending beyond the taper of the waveguides.
