    摘要: A cleaning structure for removing dust is constituted of a guiding member having a sliding surface for guiding run of a tape, and a vacuum pressure supply source for making a vacuum pressure effect on a suction space provided inside the guiding member and so on. At the sliding surface of the guiding member, a suction port for making the suction space communicate with an external space is formed, and the opening edge of the suction port on the downstream side in the tape running direction is served as a first dust removal portion for removing dust on the tape surface. The guiding member has a guiding wall having a contact surface which guides at least one tape edge of a tape, and the contact surface is served as a second dust removal portion for removing dust adhering to the tape edge.

    摘要: The information recording apparatus of the present invention includes N servo heads. Servo signals outputted respectively from the servo heads are delayed by a delay circuit such that the peaks of the waveforms of the servo signals coincide with each other. The delayed servo signals are added up by an adder. Thus, the output level of the servo signal can be increased by N times and the S/N ratio of the servo signal can be also increased by √N times. As a result, the precision of PES improves and the amount of off-track can be reduced. Therefore, even if a magnetic layer in magnetic tape has a small thickness, it is possible to prevent the decline of the output level of the servo signal and the S/N ratio.

    摘要: In a recording/reproducing method of a magnetic tape in a tracking servo system, a recording density of each data track is increased while inhibiting occurrence of a recording/reproducing error caused by a size change of a magnetic tape in the width direction. Data tracks are each set to have a smaller track width stepwise as closer to servo tracks (41T-1 to 41T-5 etc.) in the width direction of a magnetic tape 1. With such a setting, the width of the data tracks (A1-41T-1 to A1-41T-5 etc. ) closest to the servo tracks (41T-1 to 41T-5) can be minimized, thereby enabling a significant increase in number of the data tracks. Further, even when the size of the magnetic tape 1 changes in the width direction due to a change in external environment such as a temperature or moisture, to lead to large displacement of the data tracks (A8-41T-1 to A8-41T-5) distant from the servo tracks (41T-1 to 41T-5), the data head (A8) can be readily aligned to face the data tracks (A8-41T-1 to A8-41T-5) in the reproduction by an increased portion of the width size of the data tracks (A8-41T-1 to A8-41T-5), and it is thereby possible to ensure reading of data signals from the data tracks (A8-41T-1 to A8-41T-5) so as to improve reproduction accuracy.

    摘要: In a single-reel type tape cartridge of a servo tracking system in which signal recording is performed, a tape reel capable of eliminating edge projection during tape winding and achieving high recording density of a magnetic tape is provided. The tape reel is provided with a cylindrical hub around which the magnetic tape is wound and a pair of upper and lower flanges. The average value of the thickness of a reference flange that receives the tape edge of the magnetic tape during tape winding is set greater than the average value of the thickness of the opposite flange. The tape receiving surface of the reference flange is formed into an inclined surface, and three or more air escape recess portions are formed on the tape receiving surface. The depth of each air escape recess portion is set not smaller than 0.05 mm and not greater than 0.40 mm. The occupation area of all the air escape recess portions is set to 30% to 80% of the total area of the reference flange.
