Abstract: A fixing system for fixing a liquid cooling block on a heat-generating electronic component, the fixing system comprising a mounting bracket and an indicator. The mounting bracket comprises a main portion overlying at least part of the liquid cooling block in order to urge the liquid cooling block against the heat-generating electronic component, and an outer connecting portion extending from the main portion and configured to be fastened to a substrate on which the heat-generating electronic component is disposed. The indicator is disposed between the main portion and the liquid cooling block, and undergoes deformation in response to the outer connecting portion being progressively fastened to the substrate in order to provide an indication to a user that a desired amount of pressure is exerted between the mounting bracket and the liquid cooling block for establishing adequate contact between the liquid cooling block and the heat-generating electronic component.

Abstract: A method is provided for positioning a data center rack relative to a rack-supporting frame. Abstract: Cooling arrangement and method for cooling of a heat source. The cooling arrangement includes a closed loop, a semi-open loop and at least one fan. The closed loop includes a primary side of a liquid-to-liquid heat exchanger receiving a first cooling fluid heated by the heat source, a first air-to-liquid heat exchanger downstream the primary side, and a first pump returning the first cooling fluid to the heat source. The semi-open loop includes a tank storing a second cooling fluid, a second pump drawing the second cooling fluid from the tank, a secondary side of the liquid-to-liquid heat exchanger receiving the second cooling fluid from the second pump, an evaporating pad downstream said secondary side, and an inlet fluidly connected to a source of the second cooling fluid. The at least one fan causes an air flow through the evaporating pad and through the first air-to-liquid heat exchanger.

Abstract: A rack adapted for receiving a component, a system including the rack and the component and a method of delivering power to the component mounted in the rack are disclosed. The rack comprises a backplane, a power panel, and a main controller. Each stage of the backplane includes a backplane power connector and a backplane data connector that are respectively connectable to a component power connector and to a component data connector when the component is inserted in the backplane stage. The main controller detects an insertion of the component in a given backplane stage by receiving a signal emitted by the backplane data connector of that backplane stage, acquires a set of power parameters of the component, and causes the power panel to provide power to the backplane power connector of that backplane stage according to the set of power parameters of the component.

Abstract: A flow detection device comprises a fluidic input port connected to a fluidic output port via a channel and a float located within the channel. A specific weight of the float exceeds a specific weight of a fluid injected in the flow detection device. Respective locations of the fluidic input port, of the channel and of the fluidic output port on the flow detection device cause the float to rise within the channel when a sufficient flow of the fluid is injected in the flow detection device. A sensor is provided to detect a position of the float within the channel. The flow detection device may be integrated in a cooling circuit having a cooling device for an electronic device to detect an eventual lack of a flow of a cooling fluid in the cooling circuit. A status of the flow of the cooling fluid is reported to a processor.
