Abstract:
A file managing system manages a plurality of files shared with a plurality of users. The files are linked to each other, and are controlled in accordance with link information. File control information is defined to represent a status of rights given to each of the users who is permitted to perform a processing which corresponds to one of the rights the status of which is in an on-state. The file control information is produced for each of the files. Link control information including link information representing a condition of the link between the first file and the second file is defined. The link control information further includes information which represents whether each of the users is permitted to use the link. The link control information is produced for each of the files. The access of each of said users to the files and the access of each of users to the link is controlled in accordance with the file control information and the link control information. The link control information may further include first propagation information which represents whether a processing performed on a first file is to be reflected to a second file so that a processing performed on the second file may be controlled, when the first file is processed, in accordance with the first propagation information.
Abstract:
A character recognition apparatus for detecting a character which is represented by an image data, by extracting a characteristic quantity of the character from the image data of the character, and comparing the characteristic quantity with characteristic quantities of characters which are memorized in a dictionary. Before the above comparison, a modification of the above characteristic quantity which is extracted from the image data is carried out, where the modification corresponds to a magnification or reduction of the scale of the above image data to equalize the scale of of the above image data of the character with the scales of the characters of which the characteristic quantities are memorized in the above dictionary. Further, a magnification or reduction of the width of the character image to equalize the width of of the character image with the width of the characters of which the characteristic quantities are memorized in the above dictionary.
Abstract:
An object of the present invention is to realize an electronic mail system wherein related electronic mail is automatically displayed when a telephone call is placed. The electronic mail system of the invention is constructed by linking an electronic mail system composed of a plurality of terminals and an electronic mail center, with a telephone system composed of a plurality of telephones and a telephone exchange, the telephones being associated in advance with individual users. The electronic mail center is equipped with means for storing a table of correspondence between user IDs and telephone numbers, a terminal interface capable of identifying the users using the terminals, and a status variable management table for managing status variables by which to recognize the mail currently displayed. The telephone exchange notifies the calling and called telephone numbers to the electronic mail center upon the reception of a call request, and the electronic mail center then identifies the user IDs in accordance with the correspondence table and transmits the related electronic mail for display on the terminals of the calling user and called user.

Abstract:
A method for judging delivery status of a push signal includes: receiving packets flowing in a specific session between a transmission source and transmission destination at an arbitrary point on a route of the specific session, and storing the received packets into a storage device, wherein the packets include voice packets and non-voice packets representing the push signal; judging based on sequence numbers included in the received packets stored in the storage device, whether or not packet loss has occurred in the specific session; and upon detecting that the packet loss has occurred, judging, according to status of the packet loss and predetermined characteristic of the non-voice packets, whether or not loss of the push signal has occurred.
Abstract:
A communication-quality measuring method disclosed in the present invention acquires packets to be transferred in a packet switching network and accumulates the acquired packets in an internal buffer. An acquisition amount indicating an amount of packets acquired per given unit time, a loss amount indicating an amount of packets lost during transfer in the packet switching network, and an acquisition leak amount indicating an amount of packets that cannot be accumulated in the internal buffer out of the acquired packets are measured. Based on the measured acquisition amount, loss amount, and acquisition leak amount, a packet loss rate transferred in the packet switching network and an error for the loss rate are calculated and the calculated loss rate and the loss rate error are output.
Abstract:
A packet capture apparatus and method including receiving packets through a network, acquiring target packets including specific information from the received packets, extracting the target packets of each session, and storing the extracted target packets, estimating a capture cycle, a capture width, and a capture start time based on static information about the target packets to determine a start time and an end time of the reception of the packets based on the capture cycle, the capture width, and the capture start time, setting the start time and the end time in control by the packet capturing part, and using the start time and the end time being set to control intermittent packet capturing, where the packets are received during each capture width every capture cycle from the capture start time.
Abstract:
A system including a first apparatus including a first processor, a first storage device, and a first communication interface and a second apparatus including a second processor and a second communication interface is provided. The first processor measures traffic of data communicated via a predetermined communication path in each of a plurality of time ranges, stores the data communicated in each of the plurality of time ranges in the first storage device, and performs a control processing to cause the first communication interface to transmit the measured data traffic to the second apparatus, and when the second processor receives the measured data, the second processor performs control processing to cause the second communication interface to transmit to the first apparatus designation information designating one of the plurality of time ranges in which protection target data not to be deleted from the first storage device has been communicated.
Abstract:
Measuring devices are connected to the same network. A sharing control processing unit controls sharing of capture of packets among the measuring devices. An aggregating unit collects the captured packets. Each measuring device notifies the sharing control processing unit of a state about its capture. The sharing control processing unit determines which measuring device is to start/stop the capture, according to a predetermined rule and the notified state. When determining that the capture is to be switched from a first measuring device to a second measuring device, the sharing control processing unit instructs the second measuring device to start the capture. After receiving a notification that the second measuring device has actually captured a packet(s), the sharing control processing unit instructs the first measuring device to stop the capture. The aggregating unit identifies a duplicate packet(s) double captured by the first and second measuring devices, and reconstructs the packets.
