摘要: Methods and systems for determining wellpath tortuosity are disclosed. In accordance with an embodiment, a tortuosity of a borehole segment is determined and a tortuosity of a casing associated with the borehole segment is determined based, at least in part, on the tortuosity of the borehole segment and a path conformity characteristic of the casing. A tortuosity variation factor is generated based on a value of the tortuosity of the casing relative to a value of the tortuosity of the borehole segment.

摘要: Data is received downhole from a downhole logging tool to produce received data. The received data is processed to produce processed data. A binary formatting option is selected from a group of binary formatting options, wherein applying the selected binary formatting option to the processed data produces fewer bits than applying any other binary formatting option of the group of binary formatting options to the processed data. The selected binary formatting option is applied to the processed data to produce binary data. The binary data is transmitted uphole. The binary data is received uphole. The received binary data is decompressed to produce uncompressed data. The uncompressed data is processed uphole.

摘要: A drill bit for downhole pulsed-power drilling is disclosed. A pulse-power drill bit may include a bit body; an electrode coupled to a power source and the bit body; a ground ring coupled to the bit body, the electrode and the ground ring positioned such that an electric field produced by a voltage applied between the ground ring and the electrode is enhanced at a portion of the ground ring proximate to the ground ring; a reinforcement material forming portions of the ground ring; a binder material infiltrated through the reinforcement material to form a composite material and forming a first portion of the ground ring; and an machinable material forming a second portion of the ground ring, wherein the composite material has a first resistance to abrasion greater than a second resistance to abrasion of the machinable material.

摘要: A densitometer in the present disclosure comprises a piston attached to an end of a tube of the densitometer to reduce pressure dependence of density estimates of a sample fluid. The densitometer measures sample fluid density by vibrating the tube containing sample fluid and measuring the resonant frequency of the tube, then estimating the sample fluid density based on this resonant frequency. The piston is designed with a predetermined diameter that converts pressure inside the tube to tension in the tube. This tension produces an opposite effect on the resonant frequency of the tube to that caused by the fluid pressure itself and thereby reduces pressure dependence of the sample fluid density estimates.

摘要: A production monitoring system includes a distributed acoustic sensing subsystem that includes a first optical fiber for a distributed acoustic sensing signal and a distributed temperature sensing subsystem that includes a second optical fiber for a distributed temperature sensing signal. The production monitoring system, also includes a cable positioned in a wellbore penetrating through one or more subterranean formations. The distributed acoustic sensing subsystem is communicatively coupled to the cable through the distributed temperature sensing subsystem. The cable includes one or more optical fibers used to obtain optical fiber measurements pertaining to the distributed acoustic sensing signal and the distributed temperature sensing signal. The optical fibers include a sensing fiber that is common between the distributed acoustic sensing subsystem and the distributed temperature sensing subsystem. The distributed acoustic sensing subsystem, receives at least a portion of the optical fiber measurements from the sensing fiber through the distributed temperature sensing subsystem.

摘要: A motor of an electric submersible pump (ESP) is positioned in a wellbore. Measured data is received from one or more sensors. A first deep learning model running on a motor controller of the ESP determines first operating parameters or first operating conditions for the ESP based on the measured data. The motor controller sends the first operating parameters or first operating conditions to a centralized computer system. A second deep learning model running on the centralized computer system determines second operating parameters or second operating conditions associated with the ESP based on the first operating parameters or first operating conditions. The centralized computer system sends the second operating parameters or second operating conditions to the motor controller. The motor controller adjusts operation of the motor of the ESP based on the second operating parameters or second operating conditions.

The system also includes a processing unit in communication with the at least one seismic receiver. The processing unit analyzes the collected seismic survey data to identify subterranean conduit coordinates for use with conduit plugging operations.

摘要: The subject disclosure provides for a method of optical sensor calibration implemented with neural networks through machine learning to make real-time optical fluid answer product prediction adapt to optical signal variation of synthetic and actual sensor inputs integrated from multiple sources. Downhole real-time fluid analysis can be performed by monitoring the quality of the prediction with each type of input and determining which type of input generalizes better. The processor can bypass the less robust routine and deploy the more robust routine for remainder of the data prediction. Operational sensor data can be incorporated from a particular optical tool over multiple field jobs into an updated calibration when target fluid sample compositions and properties become available. Reconstructed fluid models adapted to prior field job data, in the same geological or geographical area, can maximize the likelihood of quality prediction on future jobs and optimize regional formation sampling and testing applications.
