Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a transmitter device may transmit, using a plurality of codewords, a plurality of code block groups, wherein the plurality of codewords includes a first codeword associated with a first set of code block groups, of the plurality of code block groups, and a second codeword associated with a second set of code block groups of the plurality of code block groups. The transmitter device may retransmit, after a failure associated with at least one code block group of the first set of code block groups, the at least one code block group using the second codeword. In some aspects, the transmitter may retransmit the at least one code block group using the first codeword and transmit a new transport block using the second codeword. Numerous other aspects are provided.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A wireless device such as a user equipment (UE) may identify a codebook matrix having a number of rows equal to a first number and a number of columns equal to a second number, the first number equal to a number of UEs supported for communication with a base station, and the second number equal to a sequence length of a set of UE specific signature sequences, where the rows of the codebook matrix comprise a Welch bound equality (WBE) achieving vector set. The UE may identify a UE specific signature sequence based at least in part on a mapping between an identifier associated with the UE to one or more rows of the codebook matrix, and communicate with the base station based at least in part on the UE specific signature sequence.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. Some wireless communications systems support mobile broadband (MBB) communications and low latency communications. To accommodate low latency communications, a base station may identify resources allocated for MBB communications, and the base station may reassign (or puncture) these resources for low latency communications. The base station may transmit an indication of the reassigned (or punctured) resources to one or more user equipment (UEs). The base station may transmit an indication of the reassigned resources in a transmission time interval (TTI) that is subsequent to a TTI reassigned (or punctured) for low latency communications (e.g., a post indication). The base station may transmit the post indication in a retransmission grant of a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) or in downlink control information (DCI) of a PDCCH.

Abstract: Techniques are described for wireless communication. An exemplary method includes receiving, at a first device, a pre-scheduling message for a downlink transmission from a second device; transmitting a scheduling message to the second device in response to receiving the pre-scheduling message; and receiving the downlink transmission in accordance with the at least one downlink transmission parameter of the scheduling message. The scheduling message may include at least one downlink transmission parameter. Another exemplary method includes transmitting, to a first device, a pre-scheduling message for a downlink transmission; receiving, from the first device, a scheduling message comprising at least one downlink transmission parameter; and transmitting the downlink transmission to the first device in accordance with the at least one downlink transmission parameter of the scheduling message.

Abstract: Techniques are described for wireless communication. One method includes identifying a set of punctured bit locations in a received codeword. The received codeword is encoded using a polar code. The method also includes identifying a set of information bit locations of the polar code, with the set of information bit locations being determined based at least in part on polarization weights per polarized bit-channel of a polar code decoder that are a function of nulled repetition operations per polarization stage of the polar code identified based at least in part on the set of punctured bit locations. The method further includes processing the received codeword using the polar code decoder to obtain an information bit vector at the set of information bit locations.

The first wireless communication device reconfigures a first resource in a second frequency band allocated to a second RAT different from the first RAT from implementing a configuration of the second RAT to implementing a configuration of the first RAT. The first wireless communication device communicates, with the second wireless communication device in the second frequency band, second data using the first resource implementing the configuration of the first RAT.

Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure provide various flexible search space designs that can handle UEs with various capabilities and limitations. In some aspects of the disclosure, the downlink bandwidth may be divided into several self-contained sub-bands. Each sub-band may include one or more OFDM subcarriers or tones, and each UE may be configured to monitor one or more of the sub-bands for its downlink control channel. The sub-band is self-contained in such a way that each sub-band includes CCEs that are mapped to resource elements contained in the same sub-band. In some aspects of the disclosure, different sub-bands can be configured with the different transmission modes and pilot densities. The transmission mode, pilot density, and layer-ID may be determined as a function of each UE's search space.

Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate to a coexistence of a first radio access technology (RAT), such as a fifth generation (5G) new radio (NR) technology with a second RAT, such as a narrow-band internet-of-things (NB-IOT) technology. In a first aspect, a 5G NR resource block size and an NB-IOT resource block size are defined, and a compatible alignment of an NB-IOT resource block and a 5G NR resource block is identified. An offset associated with the compatible alignment is then determined in which the offset is within a threshold offset and facilitates an identification of a valid NB-IOT resource block. In a second aspect, an offset associated with a compatible alignment of a 5G NR resource block and an NB-IOT resource block is ascertained, and a channel raster is shifted according to the offset associated with the compatible alignment.

In some aspects, a base station may transmit an indicator, associated with a HARQ process, to a user equipment, wherein the indicator indicates a number of mini-slots to be bundled for a HARQ transmission of the HARQ process; and transmit the HARQ transmission to the user equipment using the mini-slots.
