Abstract:
The present disclosure provides techniques for configuring the utilization of request-to-send/clear-to-send (RTS/CTS) protocol procedures based on varying conditions at the STA. For example, an AP may identify one or more conditions, when satisfied, may trigger the STA to either enable or disable uplink (UL) transmissions associated with a RTS/CTS protocol procedure. In some aspects, an AP may determine a transmit opportunity (TXOP) threshold for an STA and may determine whether to broadcast a message having the TXOP threshold to multiple STAs including the STA or unicast the message to the STA. An STA may receive a message from an AP having a TXOP threshold and may replace, based on an indication in the received message, a current TXOP threshold in the STA with the TXOP threshold in the received message. The STA may transmit an UL RTS frame in response to a determination that a planned TXOP duration satisfies the TXOP threshold.
Abstract:
Various aspects are provided for cooperative reception. In one approach, a first access point (AP) may receive uplink data from a second AP, wherein the first AP and the second AP have an overlapping coverage area, where the uplink data is received at the first AP via the second AP from a wireless station within the overlapping coverage area. The first AP may communicate to the wireless station a block response frame associated with the uplink data. The block response frame may be a block acknowledgment frame. The block response frame may be communicated in response to a request by the wireless station or based on a scheduled time. The first AP may contend for a communications channel to communicate the block response frame. The wireless station or the first AP may set up the cooperative reception in which the second AP forwards the uplink data to the first AP.
Abstract:
A method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for wireless communication are provided. In one implementation, an apparatus includes a processing system configured to transmit a scanning schedule to one or more devices, the scanning schedule comprising one or more candidate channels and a scan period corresponding to at least a first device of the one or more devices, and receive a report from the first device in response to the scanning schedule, wherein the report indicates a load on at least one of the one or more candidate channels during the scan period.
Abstract:
A method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for wireless communication are provided. In one implementation, an apparatus includes a processing system configured to attempt communication with a first device via a first channel, connect with a second device associated with the first device in response to a determination that communication with the first device was unsuccessful on the first channel, and receive channel information associated with the first device from the second device, wherein the channel information indicates a second channel used by the first device.
Abstract:
A method, an apparatus, and a computer-readable medium for wireless communication are provided. The apparatus is configured to determine a communication deferral policy within a BSS associated with the apparatus. The apparatus is configured to receive a message from a second wireless device. The apparatus is configured to determine a message type of the message. The apparatus is configured to determine whether the message is associated with an OBSS based on the determined message type. The apparatus is configured to determine whether to defer communications based on the communication deferral policy, the message type, and whether the message is associated with the OBSS.
Abstract:
A method, an apparatus, and a computer-readable medium for wireless communication are provided. In one aspect, an apparatus is configured to adjust an EDCA parameter based on a signal strength of a signal from an access point or a distance between the station and the access point and to communicate with the access point based on the adjusted EDCA parameter.
Abstract:
A method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for wireless communication are provided. In one aspect, an apparatus includes a processor configured to identify at least one interface (e.g., AP interface) configured to support link aggregation, identify one or more groups of the at least one interface, wherein all interfaces of a respective group are configured to be aggregated together, identify supported link aggregation types per group, select one of the groups to support communication via link aggregation, select at least one interface of the selected group, and send information to the selected at least one interface to initialize link aggregation.
Abstract:
A method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for wireless communication are provided. The apparatus may be a node. The node may suffer poor QoS due to low medium usage caused by a number of contenders. The apparatus obtains node information of the node. The apparatus receives configuration information from a configuring device. The apparatus determines whether to trigger an enhanced distributed channel access (EDCA) adjustment based on at least one of the configuration information or the node information. A purpose of the adjustment is to improve the node's QoS by increasing the aggressiveness of node's EDCA parameters or by reducing the aggressiveness of neighboring nodes' EDCA parameters.
Abstract:
An explicit indication is provided regarding whether information was subjected to interference during transmission. For example, a receiver can monitor received packets and determine whether any of data units in a given received packet were subjected to interference during transmission. If so, the receiver can send an indication to the transmitter to inform the transmitter of the interference. This indication enables the transmitter to distinguish between packet loss that occurred as a result of channel fade and packet loss that occurred as a result of interference. Consequently, the transmitter is able to invoke different actions depending on whether the packet loss is due to channel fade or interference.
Abstract:
Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate generally to wireless communications, and more specifically to systems, methods, and devices for staggered primary channel selection for WiFi. According to certain aspects, a method for wireless communications is provided. The method may be performed, for example, by an access point (AP). The method generally includes obtaining information regarding neighbor basic service sets (BSSs), selecting a primary channel based on the obtained information, and output for transmission a message signaling an intention to communicate using the selected primary channel.
