摘要: A contaminant sensor (1) for detecting magnetizable contaminants (7) present in a lubricant flow is disclosed. A permanent magnet (3) is arranged movably inside a sensor housing (2). A sensor element (6, 11, 13), e.g. in the form of a distance sensor (6) or a pressure sensor (11), is arranged to detect a displacement of the permanent magnet (3) inside the sensor housing (2), and an indicator is arranged to generate an alert signal when a displacement and/or a rate of change of displacement of the permanent magnet (3) inside the sensor housing (2) exceeds a predefined threshold value. The permanent magnet (3) is arranged to move inside the sensor housing (2) in response to magnetizable contaminants (7) collected on an outer surface of the sensor housing (2).

摘要: A cell magnetic sorting system comprises a continuous magnetic cell sorting apparatus. The continuous magnetic cell sorting apparatus comprises a rotating magnetic field generator, a forward solenoid and a reverse solenoid; the forward solenoid and the reverse solenoid surround the rotating magnetic field generator in forward and reverse directions, one end of the forward solenoid is connected to a cell solution source, the other end of the forward solenoid is connected to one end of the reverse solenoid through a T-shaped tube, an inlet of a T-shaped tube is connected to an outlet of the forward solenoid, a first outlet of the T-shaped tube is connected to an inlet of the reverse solenoid, a second outlet of the T-shaped tube is connected to an inlet of the target cell collection container.

摘要: The present invention provides a method and an apparatus capable of continuously and accurately separating, by type, a mixture containing at least two types of particles, or capable of separating specific particles from the mixture, using a gradient magnetic field. In the present invention, a mixture containing at least two types of particles, particles of one type of which are made of a paramagnetic or diamagnetic substance, is treated. A magnetic field whose magnetic field gradient has a vertical component and a horizontal component is applied to a supporting liquid 21 stored in a separating tank 31. When the mixture is placed into the supporting liquid 21, the particles of the one type are guided such that they are positioned in the supporting liquid 21 at a predetermined height from a bottom face 39 of the separating tank 31 while horizontally traveling. Alternatively, the particles of the one type magnetically levitate at a liquid surface of the supporting liquid 21 and horizontally travel. Particles of another type of the at least two types of particles are positioned at a position vertically different from that of the particles of the one type, between the bottom face 39 of the separating tank 31 and the liquid surface of the supporting liquid 21.

摘要: The arcuate magnet is made up of a series of magnets that produce a radial shape magnetic field. The arcuate magnet is supported adjacent the outer periphery of the cylindrical blind trommel. The blind trommel is rotated. Steel balls and magnetic material are held to the inner periphery of the blind trommel and carried with it to the end of the arcuate magnet. The arcuate magnet may be made up of either electromagnets or permanent magnets. Another embodiment has one or more magnets attached to spaced positions around the outer periphery of the trommel. Permanent or electromagnets may be employed. Electromagnets are connected to slip rings that energize the magnets from about the 6 o'clock position and de-energize the magnets at about the 11 o'clock position. The permanent magnets are moved away from the blind trommel at about the 11:00 o'clock position. The magnetic material is released from the blind trommel at about the 11:00 o'clock position and collected in a tray inside the blind trommel. One magnet or a plurality of magnets can be used.

摘要: An improved magnetic separator arrangement is provided. One major improvement relates to modifications facilitating utilization of relatively dense and tightly packed matrix material within races, through which a slurry of ore material passes during separation. The tightly packed matrix material is accommodated through utilization of flexible race walls, and compression and expansion mechanisms selectively operable to facilitate separation. A cover mechanism inhibits water flow turbulence, during an initial setting up of a magnetic field to entrap magnetic material within the matrix element of each race. A preferred retainer mechanism is provided which facilitates mounting of flap members for use in association with a cover mechanism, as well as retention of the matrix material in a desired position. In a preferred embodiment, the previous features are incorporated into a system fed with an ore material from an inner portion of a circular race, i.e. the center of a rotating drum.

摘要: In a moving matrix magnetic separator in which a matrix device moves relative to a processing device and a seal assembly seals a longitudinal section of the matrix device to an associated processing device, the seal assembly including a sealing surface on one of the devices and a seal on the other, the improvement comprising said seal including a base portion extending generally longitudinally in the direction of motion of the matrix device; first and second salient, resilient lip portions extending from the base portion toward an associated sealing surface in the gap between the matrix device and the processing device, and extending generally longitudinally to the direction of motion of the matrix device and spaced from each other transversely to the direction of motion of the matrix device and forming a channel therebetween; a pressurized purge fluid chamber formed by the channel and the associated sealing surface; and means for supplying purging fluid to the purge fluid chamber formed by the channel and lip portions with the associated sealing surface.

摘要: A method and apparatus is disclosed for cleaning magnetic material attracted to a ferromagnetic matrix within a separating chamber of a magnetic separator. The magnetic material retained by the matrix is cleaned in a high pressure cleaning stage in which both a liquid medium and a gaseous medium are provided under pressure to clean the magnetic material. As the gaseous medium passes through the matrix, it does so with a pressure drop which is substantially lower than that of the liquid passing through the matrix. Consequently, as the gaseous medium expands, it transfers a portion of its kinetic energy to the liquid which provides improved and more rapid cleaning effects than known rinsing steps.

摘要: A magnetic separator in which the substance to be treated is passed in a first direction through a body of foraminous, magnetically susceptible material of significant extent, while traversing in a second direction a magnetic field extending in a third direction, the directions being substantially orthogonal. Vibration is applied to the body, preferably axial and preferably linear. The field opposes the passage of magnetic particles through the body while the vibrator promotes the passage of non-magnetic particles, so that they emerge from the body at different locations for separate collection. The body is conveniently a hollow cylinder built up of sections of magnetic stainless steel screening folded and shaped, and the movement of the body is preferably rotation, the substance being applied to an outer cylindrical surface of the body and emerging from an inner, concentric cylindrical surface. A structure comprising a plurality of such hollow cylinders spaced axially along a hollow drum is shown, with means for feeding the substance individually to the several cylinders: the cylinders pass between fixed magnets during a portion of their rotation.

摘要: A filter cartridge for a magnetic separator for removing fine magnetic particles from a liquid or gas is disclosed. The filter cartridge is made up of alternate layers of expanded magnetic stainless steel mesh and magnetic stainless steel wool. The expanded metal mesh and steel wool can be of plain steel where non-corrosive liquids or gases will be encountered or stainless steel for corrosive liquids. The laminates are packed into nonmagnetic steel containers to prevent movement of the laminates in relation to each other when they enter or leave the intense magnetic fields encountered in this type of separator.
