摘要： An article with a flexible substrate has a pocket or vent opening with a resealable closure such as a zipper, snaps, or hook and loop fasteners, which is operable between a closed position, in which the opening in the substrate is closed, and an open position, in which the opening in the substrate is revealed. A resilient spring member of springy plastic, composite, metal or other material is mounted to the substrate around the opening, and has two arms which have portions which are displaced vertically from one another when the closure is open, but which are resiliently compressed into a common plane when the closure is sealed. Each time the closure is opened, the spring member urges portions of the shell on either side of the flap apart, to thereby enlarge the area of the opening and permit access or air flow therethrough.

摘要： A recloseable zipper having a sealant applied thereon, for use in a polymeric bag. The recloseable zipper includes a first and second closure member, with each closure member having an interior surface and an exterior surface. A first sealant is present on the exterior surface of each of the first and second closure profiles; this sealant is used to attach a polymeric film that forms a bag body. A second sealant is present on the interior surface of each of the first and second closure profiles; this sealant enhances the seal between the closure profiles at the side edges of the bag.

摘要： A slide fastener is provided which has two sliders arranged to be slidable on a pair of interlocking stringers so as to open the fastener when separated and close the fastener when brought together, at least one receiving portion disposed on one of the sliders, at least one latching member disposed on one of the sliders and engageable with the receiving portion. The sliders engage and are separated by deformation of the receiving portion and/or the latching member. The slider body portion is formed separately to the latch body portion so that different materials may be used. A two part slider having a decorative surface body portion, in place of the latch body portion, is also disclosed.

摘要： A reclosable fastener assembly (10) for use in the manufacture of a plastic bag (30). The fastener assembly (10) includes a zipper (18) with a seal feature on a web flange (24) extending from an interlocking member (26) of a profile (28) of the zipper (18). The web flange (24) is bent at a lower portion of the web flange (24) upward to the interlocking member (26). At the lower portion, an interior face (32) of the web flange (24) is sealed to an opposite interior face (33) to form a flange seal (31). The bend (35) of the lower portion includes a weakness area (34) which, in concert with the flange seal (31), acts as a barrier and a tamper-evident feature. After the flange seal (31) is initially torn open, the weakness area (34) may be torn open to access the plastic bag (30). A method for making a reclosable plastic bag (30) is also disclosed.

摘要： In a die-casting slide fastener slider having a plastically deformable, cantilevered pull-tab attaching lug on a slider body, the lug projects from an upper end of a guide post over an upper wing toward a rear end of the upper wing and terminates in a downward end projection spaced from the upper wing by a gap through which an attachment ring of a pull tab is threaded. The lug has a longitudinal hollow through its base to facilitate plastically deforming the lug to reduce the size of the gap after threading. In this structure, since first and second slide cores of a mold for die-casting the slide fastener slider can be inserted from the front and rear sides, it is possible to mold the lug without generating any parting line on its overall appearance.
