摘要: A method for foaming a liquid-based composition, such as a softening composition, onto a tissue is provided. The foam composition can be formed in a foam generator by combining the liquid-based composition and a gas, such as air. The foam composition has a blow ratio, i.e, ratio of air volume to liquid volume, greater than about 3:1. Moreover, the foam composition is also generally stable such that it has a half-life greater than about 3 minutes. In one embodiment, a tissue product having elevated regions and non-elevated regions can be foamed with a foam composition such that the elevated regions are applied with a greater amount of the foam composition than the non-elevated regions.

摘要: A method of and apparatus for producing a transparent film or a transparent layer with a surface structure at least on one side and, on the other side, in register with said surface structure, a structural or 2-dimensional pattern, operate with at least two rotating rollers and layer application between them and curing of a structural layer. By means of a third rotating application roller, a further layer can be applied in register to the rear side of the structural layer and can be cured. The rollers and roller nips can be set very accurately by suitable devices. The rotation of all the rollers is controlled by a master drive.

摘要: A method for forming a bonding on a tapered surface of a wall of a part to substantially eliminate the tapered surface. The method includes positioning the part and a sprayer at a predetermined distance, supplying a bonding material to the sprayer, and applying differing amounts of the bonding material from the sprayer to the tapered surface of the wall of the part to change the tapered surface of the wall of the part to a substantially non-tapered surface.

摘要: A method for lubricating a thin film magnetic media is disclosed wherein the magnetic media is lubricated only at the head-disc interface zone. The method comprises the steps of vaporizing the lubricant, mixing the lubricant with a carrier gas stream, and depositing a film of the lubricant on at the loading zone on the surface of the magnetic media. The lubricant film can be selectively deposited on the surface of the magnetic disc at any location and at any thickness. In one embodiment of the invention, the lubricant film forms a radial band on the surface of the magnetic disc located near the outside diameter of the magnetic disc.

摘要: Embodiments provide methods for the protection and consolidation of calcareous materials. An exemplary method includes providing an aqueous solution of a hydroxycarboxylic acid, adjusting the pH of the aqueous solution by adding an alkaline agent, and applying the pH-adjusted aqueous solution to a calcareous mineral to form a conversion layer on the mineral. The calcareous mineral may, for example, be carbonate rock, particularly limestone and marble, or may be part of masonry material, aggregates, or fillers. Adherent conversion layers are readily formed at ambient temperatures and, therefore, methods provided are suitable for field application. Conversion layers so formed are provided as further embodiments.

摘要: The strength of lignocellulosic materials is improved by treating them with water-soluble strengthening agents containing sulfonic units, and rendering these agents water-insoluble by reacting them with compounds containing epoxide rings and quaternary ammonium groups. Thus, a substantial reduction or elimination of the bleeding of said strengthening agents from the lignocellulosic materials when touched with wet hands or contacted under humid conditions is achieved.

摘要: A method for producing visco-elastic fluidic material flows by drawing a visco-elastic fluidic material with corresponding separate second fluid flows associated therewith to form a visco-elastic fiber vacillating in a repeating, generally omega-shaped pattern having a bowed portion with first and second side portions that first converge toward each other and then diverge outwardly in generally opposing directions. In one operation, the visco-elastic fiber vacillating in the repeating, generally omega-shaped pattern is an adhesive material deposited onto woven and non-woven fabric substrates and stretched elongated elastic strands in the manufacture of a variety of bodily fluid absorbing hygienic articles.
