    摘要: A power conditioning, distribution and management system includes a switch circuit that enables coupling of an AC power supply to a load though an overcurrent device. A control circuit switches the switch circuit from a non-conductive state to a conductive state when a supply voltage signal is between first overvoltage and undervoltage thresholds. The control circuit records an overvoltage event and maintains the switch circuit in the conductive state when the supply voltage signal exceeds a second, higher overvoltage threshold and switches the switch circuit to a nonconductive state when the supply voltage signal exceeds a third, highest overvoltage threshold. The control circuit records an undervoltage event and maintains the switch circuit in the conductive state when the supply voltage signal falls below a second, lower under-voltage threshold and switches the switch circuit to the non-conductive state when the supply voltage signal falls below a third, lowest undervoltage threshold.

According to one aspect, a next zero crossing of an alternating current is detected, and in response, a mechanical impulse with a phase angle of between 5° and 20° is applied before the next zero crossing of the alternating current. The mechanical impulse disconnects the switching contact from the mating contact of the switch.

    摘要: A device for operating a relay to selectively provide power from a power supply to a load. The device determines an activation switching point for activating the relay such that inrush current resulting from the activation is minimal. The device also determines a deactivation switching point for deactivating the relay such that backrush current is minimal. The switching points are determined with respect to a voltage waveform of the supply power. The device varies the timing of the operation of the relay with respect to the voltage waveform and monitors the inrush or backrush current resulting from each timing until a minimum inrush or backrush current is found. The device stores these times in memory for subsequent operation of the relay. To further reduce inrush and backrush currents associated with inductive loads, the device activates and deactivate the relay on opposite half cycles.

    摘要: A hybrid switch circuit includes a hybrid switch that couples an input conductor connected to an AC power supply to an output conductor connected to a load. The hybrid switch includes a power semiconductor in parallel with an electromagnetic relay. A control circuit turns on the hybrid switch by turning on the power semiconductor at a zero-voltage crossing of the AC voltage to provide a conductive path and then closing the relay to provide a conductive bypass path that bypasses the power semiconductor. The control circuit turns off the hybrid switch by opening the relay and subsequently turning off the power semiconductor at a zero crossing of the load current. The control circuit operates in response to at least one switch control signal that indicates whether an operating fault condition exists.

A first line section and a second line section can be connected and disconnected by way of the interrupter link. In order to determine a switching time, the temporal progression of a driving voltage is determined in the first line section. Potential switching times are determined at the voltage zero crossings of a resulting voltage.
