    摘要: A method which prolongs the lifetime of relays and to prevents degraded performance of relays due to oxidized film on relay contacts is presented. The method essentially comprises the alternation of relay switch operation in dry switching mode with operation in wet switching mode. The frequency and duration of operation in wet switching mode is dependent on the characteristics (e.g. construction or materials, etc.) of the relays in use.

    摘要: Two reed switches are alternately closed by a magnet rotating with a shaft of a water meter or the like which is to be read remotely. A capacitor discharges through the reed switches when the same are closed, increasing the switch current without increasing the external power source current, thereby producing temporary partial fusion of the switch contacts and maximum contact effectiveness. A low-pass filter and a snap action circuit such as a Schmitt trigger are connected to the switches to eliminate the effects of contact bouncing and noise signals from the output of the circuit.

    摘要: A contact wetting circuit 100 is disclosed for supplying wetting current to sense the state of dry contacts of a switch SW1 setting for an electronic device 10. The contact wetting circuit includes an RC circuit 110 having a resistor R1 and a capacitor C1, and a controller 120 connected to a power supply 130 of the device. The controller supplies a first voltage to the RC circuit to produce a charging current having an average current and/or a peak current below the wetting current parameter of the dry contacts. The charging current is used to charge the capacitor C1 during the first time period. The controller stops the supply of the first voltage to the RC circuit after sufficient charging to allow the charged capacitor C1 to supply a second voltage, across the switch SW1, to produce a wetting current. Thereafter, the controller polls and senses the state of the switch SW1, and performs certain operations accordingly.

    摘要: A circuit includes an evaluation node through which current flows from a voltage source node to a sensed switch when the sensed switch is closed. First and second control switches are disposed between the voltage source node and the evaluation node to switch between first and second current paths for the current. The current passes through the first control switch when flowing along the first current path. The second control switch is coupled to a control terminal of the first control switch to deactivate the first control switch and allow the current to flow through the second current path. Multiple passive circuit elements are configured to establish first and second current levels for the current. The passive circuit elements are disposed between the voltage source node and the evaluation node in a circuit arrangement in which no current path to ground is present when the sensed switch is open.

    摘要: A system for maintaining integrity of a switch contact includes a first resistor-capacitor circuit, a second resistor-capacitor circuit, and a control switch. The first resistor-capacitor circuit is connected to an output of the switch contact and includes a first resistor and a first capacitor. Upon closing of the switch contact, a first wetting current flows through the switch contact. The second resistor-capacitor circuit includes a second resistor and a second capacitor. The control switch is connected between the output of the switch contact and the second resistor-capacitor circuit and is selectively closable to generate a second wetting current through the switch contact. The control switch may be operated as needed to maintain the integrity of the mechanical switch contact.
