Abstract:
A planter including a center post and a series of upwardly-opening disc-shaped growing compartments which are arranged in a sequential relationship along the length of the center post and are suspended from the top of the center post. Each of the growing compartments has a center opening through which the center post extends so that the growing compartments are maintained in a centered relationship about the center post. Furthermore, a lowermost growing compartment has a substantially solid bottom for containing dirt or potting soil placed therein, and the remainder of the growing compartments have bottoms within which including relatively large openings are defined to accommodate the passage of relatively large clumps of dirt or potting soil through the bottoms thereof so that each of the growing compartments can be filled with dirt or potting soil placed into the uppermost growing compartment.
Abstract:
The present invention relates generally to a stackable series of holders of different sizes and shapes. More particularly it relates to a holder with integral riser in the center and a universal stacking support between each level of holder primarily for floral applications.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for cultivating strawberries and small leafy vegetables using a multi-layered device. The apparatus comprises a support plate in which a plurality of holes, which are paths for water and/or a nutrition solution, are formed in order to enable massive harvesting and cultivation of bulbous crops and decorative plants as well as strawberries and small leafy vegetables. A main body comprising a plurality of constant-sized holes for planting and cultivating strawberries and small leafy vegetables at a constant interval is located in the upper part of the support plate. The main body is filled with soil mixed with one or two or more selected from peat moss, coarse sand, charcoal, chaff mixture, carbonized chaff, perlite, organic mixture bed soil, and yellow soil in order to supply the crops planted in the side of the main body with water and nutrition solutions through the roots thereof. A pipe or a hose in installed in the center of the main body to supply the injected water and nutrition solutions to the crops through the bed soil in the main body in order to cultivate the crops well. The multi-layered device is designed and manufactured to transplant seedlings planted in a port nursery to the holes formed in the main body.
Abstract:
A vertical planter includes stackable planter units each with plural sections in which plural plants can be planted. Each section of a planter unit can have a removable faceplate for placing soil in the planter section and planting plants in the soil, or potted plants can be placed in the faceplate openings. Water is provided to each planter section via a drip irrigation tube fed from a main water supply tube that extends to each planter unit. The drain water from each planter unit drains down through an underlying planter unit and into an underlying water reservoir.
Abstract:
A plant stand positioning plant pots in a cascading arrangement. The plant stand includes a pole, a first brace, and a second brace. The pole has a lumen and a plurality of perforations there through. The first brace and the second brace each have an aperture to allow the braces to be slid over the pole and the braces are then received inside of the base plant pot. Multiple plant pots can then be stacked over the pole in an alternating arrangement. Water is delivered to the plants in the pots by flowing through the lumen and out the perforations in the pole.
Abstract:
A kit for a mobile gardening cart that includes the following: a base structure, storage areas, and a plurality of wheels to allow it to pivot in any directions, an upright frame structure with reasonable braced support, linage/connection to a main vertical frame, and multiple stackable container forms to be placed parallel to each other in an ascending upward fashion on the upright frame structure.
Abstract:
A multi-story water storage apparatus includes a plurality of stackable units arranged one above another along a vertical axis. Each of the stackable units includes a coupling portion arranged in alignment with the vertical axis, the coupling portion having a first space with a drainage hole. At least one of the stackable units is a storage unit having a storage portion arranged radially outwardly of the coupling portion with respect to the vertical axis. The storage portion is provided with a water storage compartment. The storage unit has an outlet passage through which water stored in the storage compartment flows into the first space.
Abstract:
The present invention includes an improved planter system that can be located in a variety of locations largely independent of available light and water sources. In at least one embodiment, the invention provides a self-contained planter system, having a water retaining box, an elevated first soil retaining box disposed above the water retaining box; and a drain portal in the soil retaining box adapted to drain into the water retaining box. A pump provides water recirculation from the water retaining box to the soil retaining box using water that drains from the soil retaining box into the water retaining box. A light mounted above the soil retaining box provides light independent of ambient conditions. The invention can also include a stacked array of soil containing boxes where excess water in a higher soil retaining box drains onto a lower soil retaining box and then to the water retaining box.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to the field of plant growth units, and more particularly pertains to an apparatus for plant cultivation which conserves horizontal space and utilizes vertical space, while providing for the growth of plants which are cultivated in an indoor environment. The plant growth unit comprises a nutrient supply module and one or more columns radially disposed about a central vertical longitudinal axis thereby defining an internal space between the one or more columns designed to accommodate a light source. Each column is in fluid communication with the nutrient supply module for circulation of a liquid nutrient flow. The one or more columns support a plurality of growth sites, which are radially disposed about the longitudinal axis and generally face the internal space. Each growth site is positioned to contact the liquid nutrient flow.
