    Abstract: This application discloses a measurement control method, a terminal, and a network side device. The measurement control method includes: when a terminal does not enter a first region or is getting away from the first region, skipping performing, by the terminal, measurement on a neighboring cell at a first frequency, where the first region is within a coverage range of a network of a first network type, the first frequency is at least one of a second frequency associated with the first region, and the second frequency is a frequency used for deployment of the network of the first network type.
